[Eagles Central] 20(!) years ago, Eagles come back down 14-0, beat Green Bay 20-17 in OT to cap an epic Divisional weekend. Donovan McNabb had a heroic night: 1st QB to rush for 100 yds in a playoff game, and hit Freddie Mitchell on 4th & 26 with 1:07 left to save it all

  1. Donny gets a lot of flack and a lot of it warranted for his demeanor. But we forget he was a special special player for a 5 year stretch

  2. My dad was at this game, him and his friends were about to leave. My dad was getting to put his coat on and had briefly looked away, when he looked back up he saw the pass. He calls it his 3rd favorite game at the Linc just behind the 04 NFCG and 2017 NFCG.

  3. Never forget: “I’d like to thank my hands, for being so good…”

Fred Ex. If only the talent matched the ego

  4. This staff would run qb draw or wr screen on 4th And 26, eliminating any chance of converting

  5. McNabb was awesome this game, the play he made to tie it at 14 was the kind of thing he did on a regular basis from 2001-04.

  6. I watched this game at a Philly hangout in the LA area. We were glum after one quarter, but the energy slowly came back. We knew we were winning when FredEx caught that 4th and 26 throw, and when Akers kicked the winning FG, we exploded.

  7. I wish I could feel confident that something like this would be possible now. 4th and 26 would automatically be a screen, run, or qb draw and we’d give up and lose. Fun to watch though.

  8. 4th and 26 was so awesome. I remember an old Mobil gas station down the road from my house selling so much merch with 4th and 26 on it.

It’s not over til it’s over! Go birds!

  9. Watching these highlights….man, McNabb is way too shit on. I’d take him back right now without question.

  10. 4th and 26 was the first time I felt the stadium shake like that and it scared the shit out of me… Was an amazing moment.

  11. I was 12 years old at this game. Freezing cold, had the full ski mask and hand and foot warmers. Before the play my dad goes “alright boys let’s get ready to go” and starts to grab our stuff. Then suddenly 4th & 26. It felt guaranteed that we’d win after that, especially after the Favre pick in OT.

  12. That was the game a few weeks after Favre’s dad died and the stadium was chanting : “DIG UP HIS DAD! DIG UP HIS DAD!”

  13. Power went out in my neighborhood at the end of that game. We all ran out and listened to the end including the 4th and 26 play. Neighbors were all honking their horns for it.

  14. Man I used to McNabb, I don’t care what anyone thinks of him. He’s a big reason I love the eagles as much as I do

  15. And then they scored 3 points in the NFC championship game, and elementary school me was depressed for two months.

  16. i’m spoiled, this was my first live eagles game

4th and 26 is something that will be etched in my brain forever

  17. McNabb was generational and for several years was the established third best QB in league behind only Manning and Brady. He was the first QB to throw for 30+ TDs and less than 10 interceptions in a single season. I will never forget being a kid and listening to idiots like Rush Limbaugh say that McNabb could never be great because of his skin color. I always loved him and how he persevered in the face of relentless criticism. He was booed by Philly fans on draft night! I know he has done and said some stuff that Philly fans don’t like — I don’t care. He is the best QB in our entire history and will be for a very long time at this rate. I’m grateful we had No. 5.
