WCJ is a potential trade candidate “Wendell Carter continues to be a name that a lot of league executives talk about as a potential trade candidate this February being that Goga Bitadze has done a phenomenal job starting for Orlando.”

  1. How ya feel about this I’m not sure goga is ready to be a full time center he struggles against big body bigs, unless the return is a big one I’m not in a rush to move WCJ welt got him on one of the best cheap contracts We got the upper hand.

  2. Every time this gets reported it’s always just speculation because of how Goga has played so far. There’s never even a BS “Wendell has been mentioned in trade talks with Orlando” statement or something. Dell COILD be traded but I highly doubt any of those execs actually know anything.

  3. Idk we looked small vs the Wolves. Wouldn’t want to give up size unless we’re getting another big back

  4. I’m not ready to move on from WCJ just yet. His contract is dirt cheaper and gets smaller every year. He’ll be making $11 million in 2026.

Goga could leave next year if some random team throws a bag at him. Rather just play it safe with WCJ.

  5. I feel like this is more of an indictment of the direction that the organization may want for this team. Wendell is kind of a jack of all trades, while Goga is more of a traditional rim protector/rebounder 5. I sometimes have felt like Wendell’s place on the team’s totem pole is secured because the space he provides to non-shooting guards, and so IF Wendell is to be traded, then I am expecting two more moves down the road:
    – FO moves on from Markelle and possibly even Cole Anthony.
    – FO pivots from a do-it-all type 5 to more of a rebounder/rim protector which may not necessarily even be Goga.

Anyways, I don’t think anything big happens in-season, but I do believe that a Wendell move will ultimately mean a changing of philosophy in the guards as well.

  6. I think folks forget how hard Dell was balling when he was healthy, he was easily our best player 2 seasons ago
