  1. Hopefully we see these dudes in 5-7 years. If we’re going to finally hit a stride and not have top 5 draft picks anymore, international signing and development have to hit

  2. [good DMN article on international signings directly or indirectly leading to the championship last year](https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/rangers/2024/01/15/international-signings-helped-fuel-rangers-world-series-run-in-more-ways-than-one/)

Santana is a great get and the other two are pretty good too. After some disaster international signings (Keithron Moss and Bayron Lora), mixed ones (Danyer Cueva, Alejandro Osuna, Maximo Acosta), and useful ones we’ve traded (Ronny Henriquez and Luisangel Acuna), it’s great we’ve seemingly turned a corner with some studs in the pocket (Santana and Walcott), great potential (Anthony Gutierrez and Yeison Morrobel), and solid potential contributers (Emiliano Teodo, Echedry Vargas, Geleider Figuerero, Marcos Torres)

  3. TL;DR:
Santana, a 17 y/o from Santo Domingo, is a 5-tool type outfielder who’s a natural hitter with +power potential, +speed, and a strong feel for the zone, drawing comps to Julio Rodríguez

The other 2 are both shortstops, with Martha, also 17, being a standout from the ‘19 LLWS for Curaçao known as a pure hitter with + bat speed, advanced instincts, and a strong arm

Castillo, who is 16, doesn’t have the same “wow” factor of the other 2, but a strong foundation leaves a lot of room to project growth. He has a real feel for hitting and the zone, and has already improved significantly in the past year

Edit to add: Santana is the only one who’s age was mentioned, but added the others
