  1. Damn, they aren’t even flying him in. Even in us poors lines of work that a bad sign.

  2. How one game can take you from being the Hawks head coach to not being mentioned at all. Wild.

  3. Does it seem like we completely shit the bed on firing Pete and then not really having a replacement in the works? Like it seems that Jody didn’t really think this through.

  4. I don’t know about you guys, but this seems pretty weird. I really doubt one game made the Seahawks change their minds. Maybe Dan Quinn was less of a want or option for them than we originally thought

  5. Might be JS really isn’t interested in a Pete Carroll 2.0 and is going for young recent college guys but he may also not need an interview with DQ. At least urgently, as they already have a relationship and he’s fine letting other teams meet first.

  6. I’m sure Seattle will be later in the week. 10 years of performance isn’t wiped out by 1 game. This feels like a good year to need a coach, lots of pretty solid choices. Who knows how they’ll work out, but there’s 4-5 guys you’d probably at least be excited about

  7. I honestly don’t think DQ is a serious candidate for our job. It just doesn’t make sense. Why fire Pete just to bring in a Pete disciple? Remember Pete pointing out the reason for his firing was they couldn’t agree on a future direction – DQ would have a very similar direction.

I think Ben Johnson ticks the most boxes, but could we get him? If we can’t, I would expect a surprise from JS, maybe a hotshot college guy or another young offensive coordinator.

  8. I have full confidence in John to find someone hungry for a Super Bowl win. Let the man cook!

  9. If they are gonna move on from Pete then they really need to replace him with someone completely different in a sense. If you’re gonna get someone who’s similar to Pete then just keep Pete since we have a proven track record with him. Since Pete is gone I hope they really go for some younger coach or someone with a different style. I think Dan Quinn would be too similar to Pete’s style and idk how I feel about that.

  10. After the showing yesterday, I’m glad the Seahawks aren’t interviewing DQ 😂

IMO, i think the Seahawks should get a HC that gives them a schematic advantage on one side of the ball. Like others have mentioned, Mike MacDonald and Ben Johnson would be on the top of my list with a preference for MacDonald. With McVay and Shanahan in our division who are incredible offensive play-callers, I would love to have a HC who can scheme defensively and stop these offenses.

Getting MacDonald could also give us the opportunity to retain Waldron who has been fine*. The OL was bottom 5 in performance this year so if even that improves to averageish, Geno and offense will cook next year

  11. I think JS loves Pete to death but knows another Pete isn’t the way.

Edit: I would love a different coach with different/new ideas but I was also ready and willing to ride this one out with Pete. He doesn’t have many coaching years left but I hopefully have many years left as fan.

  12. Must be weird having the media report on your job interviews. The ultimate Jewish/Italian/insert stereotype grandmother.
