[Pelissero] The Seahawks requested an interview with Raiders DC Patrick Graham for their head coaching job, per source. It’s the second HC request in this cycle for Graham, who already interviewed with the Chargers.

  1. Talk to lots of coaches, even if they aren’t super serious HC candidates. Always need coordinator options in the future, always good to just get football scheme ideas from coordinators throughout the league.

  2. I’m a little concerned by how many defensive coaches we’re interviewing that we may decide to hire a defensive coach with all the talent on the offensive side.

  3. I expect a lot of interviews bc there’s a lot of coaches to look at and to comply with Rooney rule requirements

  4. Yeah I’m not feeling this search. Almost no offensive coaches and it’s like JS just aimlessly throwing shit at the wall with all these random candidates. “Wide net” more like they fired Pete then said, “oh shit we gotta actually find a new coach to replace him” instead of already having a coach they liked identified and going hard to secure the hiring.

  5. Not gonna lie (haven’t watched much of Raiders at all this season), the Raider fan reaction to this news makes me more intrigued about this candidate.

  6. Many reasons to interview many different candidates besides trying to find the right one. It’s also a form of self scouting. You get a free unbiased 3rd person’s pt of view on what are strengths and weaknesses as well as perceptions of the overall Seahawks organization. This is never a bad thing.
