If Steve Belichick stays with the Pats.

Assuming Steve Belichick stays with the team.

If Bill wins a Super Bowl with the Atlanta or the Cowboys or any other team and the Pats go 7-10 for two years under Mayo, how long until we see new Patriots HC Steve Belichick?

  1. Maintaining defensive continuity would be great, Steve has proven a lot of us wrong I think he’s a quality coach and would help Mayo focus more on the overall team than just the defense.

  2. If Mayo doesn’t succeed at HC, I would hope for a full scale reset. Mayo is an attempt at getting younger and more relatable to the players at the top while keeping the “Belichick culture”. It’s worth the try and I’m 100% behind Mayo, but if this doesn’t work, scrap it all and go back to the drawing board.

  3. Hopefully never. If Mayo flops we’ll be past due for an outside perspective. If Mayo is great he should have the job locked up for a long time.

  4. Everyone feels the Pats D has been good for the last few years. We will soon see is it someone named Belichick or Mayo?

  5. Keep defensive coaches and grab a new upcoming defensive coordinator, grab best offensive coordinator on the market, Robert Kraft has to open up his check book and get this shit right, grab maye Daniel’s or Caleb, do not stay with trash ass Mac jones

  6. First disclaimer… they need new uniforms ASAP

But also, Bill is top 3 greatest coaches this game has seen, if not pure number 1. To get rid of him for an underling is rude enough. You do that some guy who came from coaching college but couldn’t get it done in 3 years, so…

If Mayo doesn’t work in 2 years it’s time to CLEAN HOUSE. Top to bottom, enough the shananans

  7. I’m perfectly ok with this.

Our problems in the last cpl seasons has not been on the defensive side of the ball.

The D has actually been the sole “Shining light” of the entire team. Steve has proven that he can do it, so I have no issues if he decides to use this opportunity to start carving his own path out from under dad.

I just hope he doesn’t prove me wrong..

  8. Maybe I’m alone here but if Bill didn’t see the need to ask Steve to follow him then I’m pretty indifferent to whether or not he stand a Patriot. It is highly unlikely, maybe even impossible, that all of Bill, Steve, and Mayo were all head of the defense and equally shared the DC role

  9. I don’t believe anything needs to be changed on the defensive end. Steve does a good job and he has a good partnership w/ Mayo.

  10. If we go 7-9 for 2 years under Mayo and we fire him we deserve to be shit for so long. You can’t turn into one of those teams with no patience and just cycle through coaches, they perpetually suck.

  11. They are making a huge mistake not bringing Vrabel in I know it was in bills contract for Mayo but still

  12. Man I’d hate to look over on the Pats sideline and not see that glorious Kentucky Waterfall, hope he stays.
