Amazon invest in Diamond sports

I’m sad about this would love to have [mlb.tv](https://mlb.tv) control the broadcast so i can watch since living in Alabama can not see 90+% of the games

  1. I’m curious to see how this plays out. No way MLB wants this. I wonder how much influence they’ll have over the bankruptcy court approving this deal.

  2. Well, the MLB owns the Braves streaming rights. As far as I can determine, diamond only owns streaming rights to 5 of the 11 teams they have broadcast rights for. So, I think it will be up to the MLB what they do for streaming. Though, it will still be a Bally broadcast. It’s all confusing and stupid.

  3. Well, I don’t truly know how to feel about this. I just want the blackouts to end and I want one service. It irritates me that some are on Apple, now Amazon it seems and then MLB.TV has the others along with some traditional broadcasts on cable.

  4. Jeez, we just dumped Fubo in favor of Hulu because we were gambling that there’d be some kind of streaming solution available by next season. Crap it all if that’s not true.

  5. So Amazon is going to start offering Bally feeds directly? As a Braves fan who cut the cord and couldn’t get Bally normally, I’m so hopeful.

Not the mlb.tv panacea I’m eventually hoping for, but I’ll take this incremental step.

  6. Yet another platform taking my money to deliver what I already pay MLB.tv to do.

Apple TV+, Peacock, Prime…what’s next the Oprah Winfrey Network?

  7. This would be phenomenal. I haven’t been able to watch non Sunday night baseball or playoffs since they took them off YouTube tv

  8. Nope. Still no streaming rights. Same reason we can’t get games on Bally plus subscription.

Looks like Manfred is wanting to partner with Amazon for MLB streaming eighths but I bet it doesn’t happen til next year. Which means we are still out of luck for another season

  9. Excited not to need Comcast or Fubo anymore. Not excited that Amazon has an excuse to raise my prime membership cost

  10. blackouts are so frustrating. i’m in Greenville freaking South Carolina. I’m not just gonna pop down to Cobb to take in a game after a full day of work.. yet my zip is blacked out.

I cancelled my YTT last year prior to the first pitch of 2023 game 1 because the mlb package had not yet been resolved. Looks like another year of no live baseball.
