I’m happy he didn’t pass Diaz’s 5yr 102M. The Astros are going to be pretty good this year with Ryan Presley and Hader in their bullpen
lol his agents making sure every writer writes that that present day value is more than Diaz’s deal so he technically got the record 😆
As much as I hate the stros I think this is fine for us.
The stros are starting to age out I’m not as scared of them. Feels like they got him towards the end of their window. Have a feeling they’ll regret this deal by year 3.
We also will only see him for three games a year unless we meet in the World Series.
I was afraid Hader would sign with the Phillies so I see this as a huge win
That’s a great signing for the Astros. I’m just happy he didn’t end up going to the Dodgers or the Rangers lol
In all seriousness he’s an excellent closer. The Astros are paying him for his age 30-34 seasons. He has three effective pitches, the sinker, the slider, and the changeup. His sinker had an xBA of .184 and his slider had an xBA of .079 in 2023
He was in the 90th percentile or higher in xERA, xBA, Chase %, Whiff %, K %, Barrel %, and Hard-Hit % in 2023
So glad he’s in the AL.
Also, closers are more true to their role than starters are to theirs in today’s game, unfortunately.
Holy shit, a tweet post on r/NewYorkMets that isn’t a five-word vague title
