  1. Give Sammy the belt. Didnt have to make a lot of saves but made some absolutely huge ones.

  2. That was the best defensive period I think I’ve ever seen this team play.

They’re capable of it, it’s just up to the coach to get them to do it every game, which he hasn’t been able to do. Hopefully this is a good sign though.

  3. The professional gaslighters strike again, which Leaf team will we see against Winnipeg? Stay tuned.

  4. Showed up with teeth from the get go. Not a ton of shots, good team defense in front of Sammy, but great start from him.

  5. Great win for Sammy. I love when marner is the third d man in the middle falling back lol

  6. Loved to see Sammy make some big saves. McCabe with two thirds of a Gordie, Liljegren was very solid tonight I thought. Build on this one.

  7. Outshot our opponents 72-38 this weekend. Wish it would’ve ended in 2 wins but pretty solid performance at least

  8. I’m so happy for Sammy. In the long run that’s more important than the win.

I’m also happy that maybe the “lEaFs 0nLy hAv3 ___ w1ns iN r3guLaT10n” crowd might pipe down for a day or two.

  9. 4/8 points playing an team on a 12 game win streak and the number one team in the league with both games being winnable is not terrible all in all

  10. Seattle had injuries and sickness and was riding a 4 game slump. We won. We needed that win.

Because it only gets harder… our schedule is brutal going forward. A LOT of really good teams ahead… starting with the Jets… twice.

  11. Florida has lost 4 in a row to some pretty bad/underperforming teams and here we are only 4 points back of them even through a bad stretch for us. No one seems to be talking about Florida struggling though.

  12. Great overall game. Kept seattle to under 20 shots. Sammy made some unbelievable saves.

Robertson draws in and scores a tuck and had some other dangerous looks. Top line was absolutely buzzing all night.

Need a few more of those games to build some confidence.

  13. BOBBY GAME WINNER

    SAMMY SAVES KEEFE’S JOB

    DEFENCE PROTECTED SAMMY

    MATTY #38

MCCABE B2B GOALS AND ICED THE GAME

  14. Can’t wait for all the idiots to post why it’s bad actually the leafs won because Keefe blah blah blah zzzzzz

Big win for Sammy love to see it.

  15. Sammy made some amazing saves that he just wasn’t doing prior and gave his team a chance. The Leafs played an amazing defensive game and really needed this win to leapfrog Tampa and Detroit. Sammy against the Jets for sure.

  16. We had an incredible amount of clear chances on net, missing the net more often than not.

Good defense today! Awesome saves by Sammy!

  17. I’m happy we got the win! I’m glad they got domi and knives on different lines.

It’s too bad it wasn’t a blow out game for them they coulda used the confidence builder. Matthews had a dirty goal like always

  18. Pretty good game. GREAT 3rd period. Sammy wasn’t overly busy but when he was tested they were really good chances so he had to be good.

Knies also stood out as having a strong game.

  19. Putting the ILL back in ILYA SAMMYNOV. HE’S BACK!

Such a big win for the tail end of a back to back. I hope this is the confidence builder for Sammy to be the presence we need in front of the net. Jones had been great but we can’t keep riding him forever, having Sammy back to form will give the team much more room to focus on offense instead.

Overall the game had been rather uneventful and there were Brodments of slip ups, but I’m glad the buds played a complete game and finished what we needed, one win at a time.

And holy fucking Jake McSnipe! That was behind the net right? Where the fuck did that come from? Keep pulling that rabbit out of the hat bud!

I’m so fucking happy for Sammy. Please let this be the end of our trouble slump.

  20. The Kraken broadcast has a British guy as their intermission host. It makes for a really interesting watching experience as you don’t hear British accent use North American sports terms very often.

That aside, well played defensive game and got timely saves from Samsonov. I’d like to see the team pull it off vs a good offensive team like Vancouver or Edmonton before I get back on the bandwagon. As it stands, I think we’re a very mid team. We’ll be competitive vs the top 7ish teams in the league but I expect us to lose more often than not vs them. We should be slightly above .500 vs the rest of the league. Tonight didn’t really convince me otherwise.

  21. I was watching the Kraken broadcast. It’s weird watching your team when you’re not watching the home broadcast. There’s a bit of emotional disconnect, almost as if they are not the team you cheer for. Having that emotional disconnect from the non-home broadcast allowed me to see the Leafs in a new light, they looked like a damn good team tonight.
