2014 WC haunts me

  1. Too many. All the game 5 ALDS losses at home. 2001, 2002, 2003…devastating losses. 2012, 2013, and of course the walk off WC game vs KC in 2014.

    For me, it’s 2001 and 2003. Being up 2-0 and blowing those series is just…ugh.

  2. Always will be 1988 World Series Game 1.

    When Gibson walked to the plate with Eck on the mound, I thought the was game over. 1-2-3 strike out. Well on our way to an easy sweep.

    Others –

    * 1990 World Series Game 2
    * 1992 ALCS Game 4
    * 2000-2003 ALDS Game 5
    * 2013 ALDS Game 5
    * 2020 ALDS Game 1

  3. 1988 World Series Game 1.

    Never should have taken out Dave Stewart in the 9th “to get Eck some work in” (as LaRussa said), and even then Eck never should have walked Mike Davis of all people. I’m not even upset about Kirk Gibson’s home run, but more about the ridiculous events that led up to it.

  4. I got over 1988 once we swept the Giants in 1989 in the most one-sided WS sweep in the history of baseball. The loss of the A’s to Fisher & LV is something I’ll never get over.
    FJF! SELL!

  5. In no order

    Tuck Rule (Brady had two hands on the fucking ball, it wasn’t a Tuck Rule, it was a fucking fumble)

    Jeremy Giambi not sliding

    Lakers losing to Boston in 08

    Sharks blowing a 3-0 lead

    Stanford losing to Oregon on a failed 2 point conversion and missing the CFP in 2015

    Sports suck lol

  6. Agreed. The A’s have scarred me for life.

    I know it’s silly, but I rarely watch any playoff game live anymore thanks to the A’s. It messes up my whole day. And this applies to all sports. Warriors and 49ers games also recorded.
