  1. I hate to be that guy, I really do. But this would satisfy the Rooney Rule requirement bc you need 2 in-person interviews with minorities. First was that Stanford HC

  2. It’s going to be Callahan..getting the Rooney Rule out of the way so they can offer him the job.

  3. Panthers fans hate him. He was play caller for 9 games and 5 of those didn’t produce an offensive touchdown. Would not be a good hire in any way.

  4. Yea Callahan gonna be the coach by this time next week. Like not trying to be that guy but both Brown and the Stanford guy are not serious candidates I feel. With this and Callahan being today I think Callahan is the next coach

  5. Honestly I’d be underwhelmed if we hired him but ultimately alright. I know we don’t wanna touch anything that came from the shit show Carolina was this year but by all accounts he’s a young offensive mind who players like.

I view him as a worse version of slowik. Could come in and establish a good offense but might not be able to lead men like a HC has to be able to do.

  6. I have to say, much as I liked the vibe of Vrabel, I am very impressed with the Titans organisation in terms of how quickly they have gotten on top of the hiring process. A wide net and getting themselves through Rooney (hate to say it but it’s the league not the org) with haste. Let’s hope the hire pans out!

  7. Considering the Panthers got shut out in their last 2 games, this is a Rooney Rule if I ever saw one. Best guess is Callahan is next HC which is good with me.

  8. this Rooney Rule is ridiculous as an non american. The panthers performed poorly and nothing supports this hire except one more down to not get fined for avoiding the Rooney Rule. Is it disrespectful to just hire the most prolific candidates and not give others a chance regardless of their skin colour, or to just interview people just so no one can be upset not giving them “a chance”?

  9. Oh man. Hopefully he brings that dynamic Carolina offense to Nashville! He had the number one overall pick ready to play all season!

  10. A lot of people automatically discarding Thomas Brown just because of the panthers season. There was a lot wrong with the panthers. Its a dumpster fire of an organization. He comes from the Mcvay tree and is thought of to be an up and coming offensive mind.

Lets not forget Vrabel led the Texans to last in defense as a defensive coordinator the season before he got the job as HC.

  11. The article about him by The Athletic a few years back is very revealing, can understand why he’s getting these interviews. Players and other coaches respect him deeply. Definitely one of those guys meant to be a head coach and not a coordinator. Not my top choice for the job but if you’re looking at the Panthers offensive success as a metric for his head coaching credentials, you’re completely missing what makes him worthy of the interview.

  12. Might be a situation where for some reason, Callahan wants him as OC if they can get him.

  13. You all are way too freaked out about interviews. Not to mention the fact that when hiring a coordinator, how their unit performed under them means virtually nothing about how they will be as a HC. If it did then Josh Mcdaniels, Adam gase and Brandon Staley should be setting the league on fire right now. Amy hired Vrabel from a bad team when he coordinated a bad defense. So there’s a lot more to it.

  14. He wasn’t great in Carolina but he was exceptional with the Rams prior. There was a YouTube video stating that Levis has a lot of similarities to Stafford and that offense centered around the deep ball can do him good.

Panthers have just been a mess all around completely with or without Brown (like us)

  15. Everyone screaming rooney rule and it’s bullshit. He’s an offensive minded guy who is from the mcvay coaching tree. His negative being one bad year in carolina where clearly alot more than the playcalling was an issue. Pretty wild. Vrabel looked awful as a DC, Callahan doesn’t call plays, Slowik only has one year as OC. Everyone has a potential downside, just interesting how Brown is getting hate and immediately yall yelling rooney rule. Pretty telling.

  16. Not a Titans fan but you guys keeping popping up on my feed, maybe it’s telling me to join the sub lol.

Anyways I just wanted to give my thoughts on Brown as a HC as someone who’s followed his NFL career the last few years. Everything I’ve read about him indicates he is a great person and a strong leader. Players on both sides of the ball connect with and respect him. He’s a Sean McVay / Kyle Shanahan tree again, so you know the basis of what offense he wants to run. This past season in Carolina did not reveal who he is a play caller. I personally believe Frank Reich was checked out after his Colts run and installed one of the most boring, static offenses in the NFL while having a rookie QB, one of the worst OL in the league, and not even a single league average NFL wide receiver. Reich called the plays to start the season but after doing horribly he handed it off to Brown but it wasn’t as if he was going to be able to do much considering the circumstances. One of the hardest things to do in-season is suddenly change your style of play offensively or defensively after spending a whole offseason working on being a playing a certain way. There wasn’t much Brown could do but continue to call the plays that the offense had worked on all offseason. After not a whole offseason changed with him leading the offense, Reich snatched the play calling duties back and continued to lead the worst offense in the NFL. Honestly I think Reich took back the duties because he knew he had done major damage to Browns career.

I feel for Brown because before this season he was a hot head coaching candidate who many thought would get a head job in a couple years. Going to Carolina has set him back considerably though. He was hired as the OC but never given freedom to run his offense or call plays for it until the HC felt like his back was against the wall. He is going to have to work his way back up from position coach most likely after this stint.

  17. The sheer amount of interviews still me that the person hired will be the BEST candidate and not the flashiest. No stones are being left unturned…

  18. Why are we wasting everyone’s time?
I really don’t think they’ll hire him. Maybe it’s some hiring tactic I know nothing about?
