How I’m the world in this the consensus of lakers fans.

This has to be the dumbest fanbase in the league. Upgrading from D’Lo who is on a one year deal with a player option that he will likely decline to DJM who is on a 4 year team friendly deal is worth way more than a random 2029 first. DJM has also proven himself to be a better player over the course of the past few seasons. Lakers fans are used to mock trade packages
where they send Austin Reaves for Kyrie so when a realistic trade comes around that likely favors them they think it is bad. What a shitty fanbase.

  1. Lakers fans overrate Dlo and underrate Murray. Hawks fans overrate Murray and underrate Dlo

Every fanbase is the same way during trade season. Overrating their own assets while underrating other teams

  2. Because DJ Murray is a midrange specialist that doesn’t really fit that well with AD and Lebron.

He has also regressed a ton defensively. Doing this deal means the Lakers can’t do other deals. Like I’d rather trade Gabe Vincent and the 2029 1st for Alex Caruso and keep D’lo (who is a better shooter and playmaker than DJ Murray).

The reality is Murray isn’t a super hot commodity because almost every team has a high level PG already. And if you’re not a 3pt specialist, you better be great at finishing in the paint, and Murray doesn’t do that either.

TLDR: He is a better player than D’lo, but he’s a worse fit and by doing this deal, the Lakers can’t do other deals.

  3. Shams is just reporting old news and he even said he expects the teams to circle back around near the deadline. So no, this is FAKE news.

  4. If y’all are being objective you have to realize that offensively Murray is not a big upgrade compared to Dlo. In fact Dlo is a better shooter and playmaker. The value comes from defense and Murray has not been good defensively for a while.

  5. As far as I’m concerned: From LAL fans’ mouth (or keyboards) to LAL’s FO’s ears. Their’s is the weakest offer I’ve seen. Would love to move on from their offer.

  6. Bc guards who are not known shooters are not good fits with LeBron and AD. Whether that warrants the value being dropped from not including a FRP or not, idk about all that. I just don’t think the Lakers should trade for the guy. I think the trade would be bad for both teams. Possibly worse for the Lakers bc then they have little to no draft capital going forward if they don’t hit on this move.

  7. Lakers are my second team so I watch them a lot. Dlo’s best is a tad behind DJM’s, but his consistency isn’t even in the same ballpark. DJM is a massive upgrade.
