  1. Well for one, nobody wants to take a risk on a guy who walks 5 guys per game. Regression with Snell is all but guaranteed.

  2. Despite the high walk rate his WHIP is not that bad. That means he’s good and generating ground balls and striking dudes out. His xBA is good and his WHIFF rate is 98th percentile.

    The biggest thing is his xERA and actual ERA are miles apart, and that could be due to park factors or fielding.

    I think he’s a good pitcher and some peripherals suggest a regression whereas others suggest quality.

  3. because everyone is waiting for my Pirates to make the lowball offers to see how low they will all go!

    If we get one or two, I will be shocked.
