Todd on Dubois: “At the end of the day whether PL gets four minutes or gets 24 minutes he has to be a difference maker. And with or without the puck we’ve gone through this long enough it’s time.”

  1. Far and away the biggest issue with PLD right now is how Todd is using him. Let him center the first line with some wingers who can finish. Scapegoating him when the whole house of cards is falling apart is just a dumb, lazy take.

As for the albatross that is his contract, I’m barely kidding when I say I’m a lot more worried about two more years of Grandpa Kopitar at $7M per.

  2. I was at the game tonight. There was a far off section with a group cheering Dubois every time he got on the ice. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have noticed him. Center or wing, I really don’t think he has found his place. The part of me that will always stand up for our team wants to say “yet” .

  3. wow, just wow. put him on a line with a rookie winger that shows promise but still learning the league and a rotating cast on the other wing and he is magically supposed to produce? I am not sure why they didnt start him on wing to gain confidence in the system and then move him to center… lizo could have handled 3rd line center during the transition…but what do i know…just frustration…

  4. I’m kinda reminded of Trea Turner when he left to the Phillies in free agency. Dude was obv playing below his potential and was struggling in the first half of the mlb season. It wasn’t until fans came together and were rooting for him that he finally turned it around.

Issues are clearly deeper than just PLD. But LA is home to him at least for the next few years. At this point, maybe some more fan support for him would go a long way.
