[Woj] The Hornets will become a team that can take on contracts for draft assets with their cap space too. With so many franchises facing second apron implications, there will be no shortage of teams needing to incentivize deals with draft picks to get off money.

  1. Turns out you don’t have to spend 150 million on injury prone veterans as soon as you get cap space

  2. I’m not sure how I feel about this, I figured blowing up this core was so that we could do a retooling of the roster not rip it down and get bad contract for draft assets to rebuild. The clock is ticking for Lamelo after all.

  3. Nothing will come from this besides maybe trading for a couple players on minimum from Celtics, Suns, or Bucks for a 2nd round pick.

Clippers will need to unload $17m and Warriors $26m to be below 2nd apron.

  4. Okc had Paul George to trade and stacked up on picks via trading big names. We won’t see the same success as a salary dump.

Mitch kupchak has been building from the draft since 2019 and has accumulated a total of 7 1st round picks since then and we still suck.

But I’m sure that 28th pick in 2027 will turn our luck around

  5. 4 years into our franchise players career and we’re rebuilding πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  6. People seem to think we’ve been rebuilding for the last 5 years…nah y’all, we’ve been atrociously bad at trying to compete, it’s not the same thing lmao.

*This* is how you actually rebuild.
