Clark dropped everything to make sure his phone call was the first one Andy answered on Black Monday. He flew TO PHILLY with his staff after giving Andy one day off to let Andy get his head around being fired and then held a nine hour interview in the fucking airport. By Friday Andy was in KC wearing red in front of the press.
Truly his father’s son and it’s wonderful his mother got to see her boy resurrect the team before she passed.
Here’s to winning another trophy with her name on it.

What I appreciate most about him is he’s hands off when it comes to football for the most part unless something is clearly dysfunctional. He also never does anything to embarrass the team and keeps a unified front. Class act who leads by example.
Thank you to the hunt family for being so kind to KC and not phoning it in when it comes to being a dedicated owner. Also, hell of a job with Andy and trusting Brett Veach who continues to do miraculous things with our budget and position filling needs.

Epitome of what you want as an owner: gun hard to get the coach and gm you want, and then place trust in your coach and gm and let them do their thing.
Clark flying up and aggressively recruiting Andy Reid led to Veach which led to Mahomes. This action is what made the team Clark’s. You earned those rings, sir. 🫡

Clark brought in Big Red and stays the fuck out of the way. We never hear any front office bullshit from the Chiefs.

Even when it was John Dorsey, Hunt had the structure of the team be that the HC and GM reported to him separately. This allowed a GM to come in and know that they weren’t Andy’s boss so they had to be able to work well together. It’s a great structure for a coach like Andy who knows what he’s doing.
Chiefs wouldn’t have Andy if Clark hadn’t gone to extreme lengths to make sure he took the job in KC. Without Andy we possibly never see Veach as GM. We probably never get to watch Mahomes as a Chief. Let that all sink in
Clark Hunt is a great owner and he has really done a great job of carrying on the legacy and magnificent work Lamar did for sports in Kansas City. Lamar Hunt was instrumental in growing soccer locally as well as nationally (see Lamar Hunt US Open Cup). Should also be noted the Hunt family (Clark Hunt Jr. specifically) owns and operates the only professional hockey team in Kansas City (go Mavs) and they’re always the first name dropped when rumors of an NHL expansion team occasionally take root.
So yeah I would say we as fans are pretty lucky and owe these people a lot of appreciation for their investment in Kansas City sports. Pretty awesome
