[Rob Maaddi] I’m told Frank Reich hasn’t received a call from #Eagles coach Nick Sirianni about the team’s offensive coordinator position. Obviously, it’s still early in the process. Reich was Philly’s OC for their Super Bowl run and Sirianni considers him a mentor.

  1. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. People don’t understand that our 2017 squad and this one are different teams with different strengths and weaknesses.

  2. big sigh. the only positive I can find if they go this way, if it works out, no one will hire away Frank Reich again and we will have continuity. If it goes poorly everyone will get fired and we start fresh.

  3. I like Reich, but I feel like they need some young whippersnapper who’s an innovator. Reich feels like a step back.

  4. Why would frank come out of retirement to essentially coach for free? It’s my understanding that his contract with the colts has an offset and the only way he can make more than he already is being paid by the colts is if we pay him more than the colts are paying him not to coach. We’re not going to pay an oc head coaching money.

  5. Seems like that report about them pursuing a former head coach with experience in the organization was bullshit. Maybe they were talking about Ron Rivera.

  6. I heard they’re trading Johnson for Cooter. Steichen unites with his protégé, eagles get a guy with a cool name who happened to work under the guy who created their system. /s

  7. Good, Reich glazing because of 2017 needs to end. League changes so much in 7 years, idea that he’ll miraculously go back to being a great OC after some awful years in the league as HC is asinine

  8. Frank Reich is a great coach and he has been with two volatile and intrusive owners. One owner traded Wentz on him after a winning season and the other forced Bryce Young instead of Stroud.

  9. I wouldn’t mind Reich because he won a SB here and I think he can coach….but aside from that I’d rather someone else.

I think Sirianni needs to go outside his comfort zone with this hire.

  10. He’s gonna be a senior offensive assistant and take over as OC when we fire whoever our OC is, following a week 14 loss

  11. Good. I want a return of the WCO with the modern motion game and RPOs mixed in.

I would have taken him as HC, but if he’ll accept another lateral move, I would love Eric Bienmy.

  12. If they decide to hire Reich for OC, I’ll still consider it a step up from BJ, but I’ll wonder if they didn’t miss an opportunity.

  13. Happy to give Frank an advising job like we did Fangio and Patricia, but I just don’t really want him as OC right now. It feels too “running it back” rather than trying to figure out how to move it forward.
