MLF not even a finalist for COTY

MLF not even a finalist for COTY

  1. No love for 3 years in a row “cuz rodgers” and no love for damn near taking it all with the youngest team ever- even though we were projected to be dead last in the division everywhere . Fuck the media.

  2. MLF, Stefanski, and DeMeco are the most deserving. All 3 outperformed expectations and adversity. Campbell would probably be next but the Lions were heavy NFC North favorites.

  3. Snubbed. MLF took the youngest team ever to the playoffs and won a playoff game. Also everyone thought the Packers were going to be bottom tier team.
Also How is Kyle Shanahan on here, but not MLF?

  4. Pack Vs the world…heads are going to start rolling. I really really pray the lions little feel good story happens for them because I really believe this team just opened a 5 year window of dominance. The awards will start flowing in the next few years.

  5. It’s hard to get CotY when youve only had HoF QB’s the entire time you’ve been coaching

  6. Meh. I’d have bigger feelings about this except Bill never won the damn thing and is obviously the GOAT so the award was made irrelevant years before MLF ever got snubbed.

  7. Honestly I feel like the award is given out without much regard for actual “coaching.” There doesn’t seem to be a consistent thread to it.

If I were a voter on it I’d probably give it to Dan Campbell, but not necessarily because of how well he did this year but by virtue of what he’s done for the team as a whole since he came on board.

MLF is an excellent coach and I don’t think anybody doubts that. But just like MVP doesn’t always go to the best player, COTY almost never goes to the best coach. If it did then Belichick would be using them as paperweights and doorstops.

  8. Taking a team that was 2-6 into the divisional round is pretty damn impressive to me. In order to keep everyone positive and to turn that around you need a good coach to believe in.

  9. Kyle Shanahan COTY for coaching one of the most stacked rosters of the 21st century to a 12-5 season, everybody clap

  10. … why Kevin Stefanski? I know him and Dan turned their franchises around in the past few seasons but Kevin walked in while the pieces were already falling into place. His major accomplishments are making the playoffs twice, having the best defensive player in the league and trading for a diddler…

  11. Harbaugh on Coach of the year list is absolutely BS when you have a team that is that stacked.

  12. I mean, who cares, but also, I don’t think a 9-8 record should warrant coty consideration.

  13. He has had a future HoF quarterback leading his team every year he’s been the head coach. This year his HoF QB was throwing to a bunch of 1st and 2nd year guys but I definitely think he was snubbed.

  14. Lamar CMC Crosby Campbell

Edit: wtf I thought I was in r/nfl. I have never subscribed or commented in your sub idk why it showed up. Sorry dudes. I’ll leave the comment because I don’t like deleting.

  15. How is shanahan on this list. COTY is almost always teams that over perform his team is supremely talented and they played up to expectations with minimal major injuries.

  16. Not to be this guy but we don’t hang banners for coty. It would be cool to see our guy get the recognition he deserves but we know he’s a great coach and is clearly capable of keeping up a winning culture.

  17. Tbf there was a long stretch of games where it looked like our offense was awful and inept. They really brought it back together in the last quarter, but it was miserable for a while.

  18. MLF has always been snubbed for COTY and I would get mad.

But then I realized, these are the same buffoons who called Nagy a genius en route to winning this award for that one fluke season with duh bears.

Yeah…you can keep that award! 🤣

  19. Damn, LaFleur gets no respect. Maybe it’s his perfectly groomed eyebrows?

    I hope DeMeco Ryans wins.

  20. If it helps, they finished with 1 more win than last year. Usually you need to be a top team, or seriously turn yours around. It’s one of those things that you don’t see on paper, but all Packer fans know how much this team correct itself and improved as the season led on.

Also, do nominations happen based on the regular season, like MVP does? To where postseason wins & losses have no bearing on voting because they’ve already been cast.

  21. So Packers crushed the Cowboys who had 7 pro bowlers and 5 all pros including an MVP candidate and OPTY finalist along with 2 DPTY Candidates? Then lost in the final minute to a team with 9 pro bowlers and 7 all pros that have 2 MVP finalists and a OPTY candidate to go with a COTY finalist.

    Nice work.
