Always will be in favor of more bullpen.
Dude has a personal vendetta against the Astros. Will be fun. Solid arm.
That blows us through to the luxury tax, no reason to not reupp with jomo now
I really haven’t followed this dude since he was a Tiger/Yankee. Someone tell me if he’s really commanding $12M at 38 years old.
Matt Moore was cheaper
So… Monty now that we’re over the luxury tax?
The Dude called this one. Though it is significantly more money than I thought it’d be, it’s still a good signing. He’s the stable veteran this bullpen lost in Will Smith. Way better than Neris.
EDIT: if 38 year-old middle relievers like Chapman and Robertson are getting $11M, Monty will likely cost $27-30M
I’ll take it.
The people want Gumby!
Gotta say 12M for him is head scratching considering we’re struggling to afford Monty
Great arm and hates the Trashtros. I got no complaints.
Monty is gonna get PAID. Just hope it’s us. Suspect Boston needs him more.
He’s been great over the past two years and def would have gotten multiple years if he were a few years younger. Chris Martin got a two-year deal last winter at age 36. I think that Buck used him greatly last season and that was def a reason why he stayed healthy and effective. There’s no reason to think that Bochy won’t be able to do the same

Wild how similar D-Rob and Kimbrel have been over the past 2 seasons
