After years of Scott Turner and EB sticking with broken and ineffective offenses, the only thing I want to see is a team that can explore some different things that could work and finding something that does. Some purposeful playcalling for situations and contexts, not just the equivalent of spamming buttons on Madden.
So it’s a little nice to hear that Johnson uses his full offense instead of abandoning entire parts of it just cause.
My favorite part of this vid is when he says they do what works that day. We’re so used to seeing our offense trying to force the same few things and try to just make them work. I love the idea of probing and figuring out what will work against that certain defense in that particular game and exploiting that.
