  1. Chytil’s health is absolutely #1 priority. Even if he never plays another game, I hope the rest of his life is well-lived.

That being said, if he’s on LTIR, what do the Rangers do from here?

  2. Not even hockey related feel horrible with the news no one so young should have this many concussion issues

  3. Felt like the obvious next step. Kid’s health should take precedence.

Get well, Fil, and hope to see you lace them up next season.

  4. So upsetting but also fully expected after the other days setback. Can’t put your life on the line for hockey, his health is top priority. Hoping for a full recovery and a long healthy career.

  5. Sucks but it’s the right decision. Health comes first and this is a life issue at this point.

From a Rangers’ perspective, Drury now has $4.2 million to work with at the deadline. I’m excited to see what he does. He needs to add a 3C and RW1 for sure, and maybe more

  6. Still so curious what happened at that practice. Did he literally just get dizzy and fall on the ice and couldn’t get up? Seems crazy to happen if he was lifting and skating in Czechia for weeks without issue. Did someone run into him?

  7. His career is over. Hockey isn’t worth it. Look at Marc Savard.  It sucks to lose a young player with promise but it would suck much more to see a 24 year old’s life ruined.

Let’s just hope Drury can find a 3C because we’ve got a big hole there now. I’m not expecting much out of that incompetent fuck.

  8. It’s a good thing he signed that contract when he did. Even if he never plays another game, he’s set up for the next chapter in his life.

That being said, I can see the real rest and time off doing him a lot of good. It wouldn’t be the first time a player got shut down for an extended period of time and came back from concussions. I wish him nothing but the best.

  9. From a business perspective this gives Drury $4mil more to work with but this letter also lets all other GMs know Drury is kinda forced now to get a 3C. I wonder if they considered holding out on announcing this until maybe Drury was further along in some trade discussions. A lot of GMs will use this as leverage

  10. Poor guy. I can’t imagine the mental toll this taking on him. I really hope he’s able to come back and isn’t forced into an early retirement. 🙏🏾

  11. I can’t even imagine breaking your ass to the level you can play in the NHL and then having to no make a decision like this. Truly hope he gets some rest and slowly can move towards playing again, and if it’s too much, has the brains to hang up the skates and enjoy life

  12. Crosby took about a year off due to concussion issues and was eventually able to return. Hopefully Fil can heal and return to the game he loves. But in the end we all just want him to be happy and healthy and not deal with horrible effects for the rest of his life.

  13. Now trade miller recall Mackey
Pair him with trouba teams will turn around at blue line
Use cap space to fill offensive needs

  14. This sucks ass.

Choosing to be hopeful and pray that he comes back next year stronger than ever. Health absolutely comes first but we don’t need to be pessimistic and say his career is over. Crosby missed a ton of time when he was younger due to concussions — that turned out alright

    Feel better Filip
