Will Ian Cunningham land a GM job?

I admit I haven’t been keeping up with the carousel as much as I’d like but I haven’t heard his name much. Have any teams looked into him yet?

  1. Looking pretty unlikely at this point. Commanders had him as a finalist but no smoke anymore with the Chargers after an interview two weeks ago.

  2. I hope not.

Some 3rd round picks are cool

But he’s been a key head in the FO during the last 2 drafts, and we’ve went 5/5 on picks in round 1/2. And as much as late round picks help flesh out your team, the early round picks need to be your foundation… and with us having 2 top 10 picks… keeping the room that’s done really well so far in tact, is important.

  3. I think he was a Rooney Rule interview this year and if the Bears do well next year he will get a GM role.

  4. I’m glad it looks like he’s sticking around for this off-season. This is the biggest off-season of Pole’s career

  5. I’m cool with him sticking around for this year. This is the biggest draft for the franchise in decades. I want all hands on deck cuz we need to nail it.

  6. He’ll get a GM job someday, maybe even next year.

A comp pick will be nice when it happens, but so far he and Poles have shown that they are pretty good at identifying talent in the draft. Don’t hate having him on board for one more franchise altering draft before he gets his shot at running a team.

  7. If he and Poles have a super successful offseason and the Bears actually contend next season, he will be the hot GM candidate at this time next year.

  8. It’s nice to have him back because he brings a lot of value to whatever room he is in. He will get a GM job soon.

I know the comp picks are nice, but this is also why people need to strike while the iron is hot. He turned down the Cardinals job and now didn’t get one this year. Always gotta look out for you and your family first.
