Was cleaning out my home today and found this. This dirt is from the last game at Shea. After the ceremony everyone was running down for dirt, I sat field level on the first base side. I was in 4th grade so I couldn’t reach down far enough to scoop it in my soda cup I cleaned out so some nice guy took it and got it for me. I went home and put it in this tin which seemed perfect for it (I have no memory where I got this tin) and it’s been with me ever since.

I still have the dirt my father scooped up when the Mets won the pennant in 86. He found it in my room 30 years later not realizing what it was he asked me if it was “grass”
