Trevor Lane (@Trevor_Lane) on X: The DLo-Reaves-Vando-LeBron-Davis group currently has a Def Rtg of 88.9

The DLo-Reaves-Vando-LeBron-Davis group currently has a Def Rtg of 88.9, which would be the best in the NBA by a HUGE margin (number 1 is MIN at 109), though it’s unsustainable & a product of small sample size w/ just 32 minutes played as a group. Still, that’s a crazy number.

  1. I just don’t think a DLO/Reaves backcourt is good enough defensively, regardless of the coaching schemes. There’s a reason why players like Fox, JamalMurray, and even Jalen Green (lol) look like 02 Kobe against us—we don’t have athleticism in the backcourt to guard them.

Dejounte literally took turns driving on DLO/Reaves/Prince in the 4th quarter last game for easy floaters by just using his burst of speed

  2. While I believe this is not a title contending roster, it is pretty clear for me the starters should be Dlo, Reaves, Rui/Vando, LeBron and Davis.

Ham didn’t improve a bit since last season and we don’t have the luxury to develop a coach, even more one that isn’t showing he deserves the time to learn. If a coach can’t learn from his own mistakes he isn’t going to lead a team anywhere.

Time to fire him and make a few roster adjustments.

  3. I still remember that in the pre-season, lots of people here were saying Prince should start over Vando when that never made sense.

  4. I think it’s pretty clear that this is the correct line-up to play to everyone but Ham.

I just wish everyone would stop piling onto TP, who by all metrics is outperforming his contract and doing his job. It is not his fault Ham is assigning him to guard the opposition team’s best player.

Some of the posts I’ve seen on here going off on a 39% 3pt shooter are ridiculous, when you all have been complaining about role players coming to the Lakers and forgetting how to shoot.

This is a failure in coaching.

  5. While I believe that lineup is significantly better than what we are running I think it’s useless to compare specific lineup data to the rest of the leagues average.

In order for this to be a fair comparison you need to take the best 32 minute lineup from every team.
