  1. >[Rapoport] the #Commanders opt for experience with Dan Quinn.

The Commanders didn’t “opt” for shit they went with what was left, no disrespect to DQ but they wanted Ben Johnson, that didn’t work out for whatever reason and they were apparently competing with us for Macdonald as well

  2. You can tell the difference between the Macdonald and Quinn hires.

Raven’s fans wanted Harbaugh fired so Macdonald could be the head coach. Raven’s fans also stated that this was worse than losing on Sunday

Cowboy fans are celebrating that Quinn is gone

  3. Im going to laugh so hard if the Commanders put up a better season than us within the next 2 years. All this hate for Dan Quinn thinking Macdonald is going to magically be better.

  4. Good for him. Genuinely hope DQ has a successful run in Washington, unless he’s playing us.

  5. Man, I’m happy for him. I’m gonna root like hell for them in the nfc east.

I’m happy to go with the young and exciting candidate, but I actually expect DQ to be a good head coach. Not a lot of coaches get it right on the first try; a lot have a couple of stops first (Pete included)

  6. Ironically “Could Have Been Me” by The Struts started playing in my head the second I read this.

  7. Didn’t want DQ here, but don’t wish him or the Commanders ill will. Honestly hope it works out for them! I just want it to work out waaaay more for us. LETS GO COACH MAC!

  8. Im happy for him, I don’t think he is a bad coach. He has been pretty successful from where he has gone. He did take Atlanta to the super bowl and made the cowboys defense pretty good this season. I hope he makes them a contender. Also that we can beat them in the playoffs like we always do.

  9. I think this is the perfect situation for Quinn. He’s going to have an edge to him to prove himself, on the East Coast. When he was HC, he was actually on the younger side at that time, most of the coaches were Boomers. But now, there’s only a handful of coaches older than he is so the balance has tipped the total opposite direction. More than half the league has a HC under 45.

I think he’s at the right age now to really thrive. Being more old school probably will be an advantage.

He also does have a similar career arc to Belichick. Won a SB under a legendary HC, had some failure & some success in his first HC role, takes a step back once again to do what he’s good at (like BB with that weird stint with the Jets back under Parcells, but Quinn with the Cowboys) and now finds himself the HC of a divisional rival, with something to prove. Won’t be a media darling, probably will even grow similarly defiant to them. I can really see this working out for him.

  10. I’m a big DQ fan and would’ve been fine with him as our third option but happy that we didn’t have to settle for him. With that being said, he is a defensive mastermind, but the Commies just sold their two best defensive players last year so he has his work cut out for him

  11. Better hire than he’s getting credit for. He’s a good hire, just not an exciting hire. That’s not his fault. That’s just the media cycle.

  12. Glad Dan gets a shot, has shown he can have regular season success, but can’t get it done in the playoffs. Washington isn’t a half bad place for him, it’s just for them being so hyped as a job to just a relatively safe pick is deflating.

  13. If Dan Snyder was still around, Quinn would be staying in Dallas. Happy that he gets another shot at HC and hopefully WAS will not be such a shitshow when Snyder was around.
