Brenden Rice, WR 6’2 with 4.4 speed from USC (Jerry Rice’s son) – Graded in 3rd round. After next season our WR corps is THIN. DJ is a FA. Would you potentially draft Brenden this year?

  1. Personally, I think this would be a 3rd round STEAL. A lot of y’all don’t think we need WR but we do. DJ might be gone next off-season. WR is an EXPENSIVE POSITION. If we can get Brenden in round 3 after we draft some combination of (OL, C, CB) I think we’re in a good spot. Our wide receiver room IS NOT great. DJ is proven a great route runner. Pickens is proven a great catcher and contested catcher.

What’s after that? Nothing. Allen Robinson will probably get cut so that leaves Calvin Austin III (not dogging him, he’s great at certain things but still unproven).

Personally? I think we should draft Brenden Rice in R3.

EDIT – also fyi for my fellow yinzers this is just a post to hopefully give some insight to those that don’t know much from the college game 🙂

  2. I would love to be able to get him in the 3rd Round. He may not be special off the bat, but he would be a contributor off the jump.

  3. If he’s there in the third sure, my wishlist is Rd1: OT, Rd2:C, Rd3:WR. After that go with what falls to us.
