How Good Was Carey Price Actually?

3. Conservatively, the goalie position has evolved so much that goalies today are better than any that came before, and as Price was the best goalie of this generation, he is the best goalie of all-time.

8. His Hart season was the most dominant season I’ve seen a goalie not named Hasek have. He turned top scoring chances into routine saves.

11. From 2013 to 2017 he was easily the best goalie in the world. He didn’t quite have the consistency across his career to challenge for a spot on the Mount Rushmore of goalie’s, but being the best for a stretch of several years in no mean feat.

    Price in nets was saving an average or 1-2 goals per game that most other goalies would’ve let it in.

22. Dude is the reason I’m a Habs fan. Such incredible positioning. He made breakouts happen from his pads and his stick. He just read the play so well and adapted to it.

23. Do you guys ever miss him handling the puck behind the net. How blessed were we to have a 3rd defenseman in Price. Goalie puck handling is becoming a dying art.

    There was a stretch where to me at least he was the best goalie in the world.

    He carried us to a cup final and a conference final with absolute dog shit teams. I’ll forever hate Gainey and Bergevin for not giving him a team that could win.
