  1. Jackson is a 36-year-old righty reliever who has been up and down between the majors and minors throughout his career. He put together 30 very good innings for Toronto last season (2.12 ERA, 0.910 WHIP).

He’s got an ok fastball averaging 93 and a very good slider that he throws 60% of the time. Kind of reminds me of a Matt Wisler type who will be adding some depth to the back of the bullpen.

  2. Per another user(Blue Jay fan) from a post about Jackson on r/baseball:

“I’m going to miss Blue Jay Jackson, dude had a hell of a year while he had a child in the NICU the whole time. One day he’d throw a shutout inning, the next he’d fly to the hospital and visit his kid. Just an awesome dude, who always pitched with a smile on his face. You’ll love him in Minnesota.”

I’m rooting my ass off for this guy already.

  3. Say what you will about the lack of moves elsewhere, I think the bullpen will be very good this year.
