  1. The priority is to get goodrow the fuck out, idc if we trade add a prospect that we have no intention of using (in this case robertson) to banish him to chicago or wherever else his dumbass nmc allows him to go

  2. Let’s get back Tarasenko! He was nice last year at the end of the season and blended in well.

  3. So let me see if I can get this straight: we essentially need a Center and a RW. This article has us trading two young assets (Kakko and Key) for older players needing longer deals in Tarasenko and Chychrun. After which… we’d still need a center and a RW.

Then we’d somehow trade Goodrow (Our current shutdown line Center, contract aside) plus a pick (and prospects?) for an expiring 3C and a RW.

So (if this article is to be believed) we slot Tarasenko with Zib and Krieds, play Chych in Key’s place, put Henrique as 3C with Vatrano and Culye… and then who plays 4C/shutdown? Bring Bonino back? Do we fire Blake Wheeler into the sun?

This sounds like fanfic or some late night video game maneuvering.

  4. I don’t understand why people think Vatrano is available for anything other than a ridiculous overpayment. The Ducks have zero reason to trade him for anything less than that. He’s not coming back.

  5. Tarasenko is 100% the way to go. He has NTC so ultimately all the leverage. If we say to Ottawa “we’ll give a 2nd/3rd and that’s it” they will take it instead of letting him walk for nothing over the summer.

There is NO USE in giving up a 1st for a rental. Nor should we give up the 1st to dump Goodrow who can be bought out for a pittance over the summer.

Vatrano will be an overpay and Drury didn’t bother to re-sign him a couple years ago. We have no need for Chychrun unless we are getting rid of Lindgren or Miller which we should not do right now.
