  1. I don’t think schefter would throws this out there randomly without some inkling we are going for it

  2. I’m fine if it’s at no. 2, but I don’t want us trading up. We have too many needs to give up draft picks.

  3. This would be the ultimate “Snyder test”

Throw away the draft capitol just to move up and grab the shiny prospect (RG3) or actually address our needs and try to get the best guys available

  4. If this was anybody but Schefter…. Gauging fanbase reaction perhaps? Think it’s pretty clear he’s got a line to JH

  5. If Washington thinks that Caleb Williams is their guy, go get him. You can use free agency / trades to get your roster better, but it doesn’t work the other way.

  6. We’ll see what happens but we can’t forget that there are most likely at least a few teams that prefer Maye over Caleb. If the bears are one of them, they’d be thrilled to swap with us if Peter’s thinks Caleb is the guy.

  7. I’d love getting Caleb, but I’m not sure why people are assuming Jayden Daniels is the play over Drake Maye now. It seems to me that Drake Maye’s superior arm talent would lend itself well to Kingsbury’s air raid offense

  8. Assuming that Chicago go Caleb at #1, Daniels at #2 just got a bunch more likely, yet to see a QB with Maye’s profile work in a Kingsbury offense.

  9. Man I’m over these speculation posts. Can’t wait for the draft so we can stop talking about it

  10. I don’t think getting Kingsbury to coach Williams in the NFL when he was his college coach is a good idea.

  11. Bears fan here – floor is 3 firsts, 3 seconds and Jonathan Allen or gtfo. The way way safer path is to just take CW at 1 and not overthink it. Get a 3rd out of Justin and move on

  12. Let’s see them screw this up like they did with Johnson being too confident. If they are going to do it then they should do it now and let them focus on the rest of the draft

  13. The only reason i can actually see this happening is cause of Josh Harris new owner syndrome. There is no way anyone can become an owner of a sports team and not make a splashy move right away

  14. The speculation is dumb. We aren’t trading up for Caleb and Caleb isn’t going to pull an Eli.

What is interesting though is that both Sam Howell and Drake Maye were under Phil Longo at UNC. Phil Longo utilizes an Air Raid Offense that’s similar to what Kingsbury utilizes.

We aren’t getting Caleb, we are getting Drake Maye and keeping Sam Howell.

  15. it’s not out of the realm… it will cost a swap of #1 picks and our #2 (pick 40) only…. i would think it was more

i still would rather stock pile and pick a lower round QB

that’s just me… excited to see Adam Peters and Eugene Shen decide

  16. It would cost the pick we got for Sweat plus at least 2 more early picks possibly 3. And it’s always a risk. Taking May, Daniels or MHJ at #2 and keeping all the picks seems like a better way to build a team.

  17. Here is the issue. We trade up and lose a 2nd and a 1st next year to get Williams for Kliffy. He has success and kliff leaves. Where are we then?

  18. Why doesn’t Caleb pull an Eli and refuse to play for anyone but the Commies? Surely he wants to reunite with Kliff. We pick him at #2, no costly trade.

  19. FO has not made up their mind about QB. Period. The combine hasn’t even happened. The coaches aren’t even in the building. I promise you that they are not interviewing/hiring Kingsbury because he’s a match for Caleb. They’re interviewing him because they want to gauge how he’d be as OC (you know, as per the whole point of an interview). If they happen to think he’s the right OC, then they’ll probably listen to his opinions on the matter but even then, it’s not any kind of lock.
