Finally, real turf at Lumen field thanks to World Cup

Artificial turf will be replaced by grass in Arlington, Atlanta, East Rutherford, Foxborough, Houston, Inglewood, Seattle and Vancouver.

I had to think the Allens were douches for putting in artificial turf when next door T-Mobile has real turf. This just confirms it. Why the f play football on artifical turf in Seattle in an open air stadium? Yes it will get muddy but that’s football.

  1. Good point! If Lumen had real grass it would be 15 to 15 in the fake against the real stuff.

  2. Near zero chance they keep it. Lumens had real grass put in for international matches before

  3. Does *any* NFL stadium have real grass anymore?

I’m old enough to remember when teams played on multi-purpose fields. E.g., the Raiders would play their games on the A’s field. Half the field would be covered with the literal dirt baseball diamond. Loved it.

Literally because they can make a bunch of money hosting concerts on turf and don’t want to spend the couple million bucks that it costs per home game to lay down fresh grass. I blame ownership for the lack of grass, and therefore by proxy for Jamal Adams tearing his knee, and therefore by proxy for all failures of the Seahawks over the last two years.
