[@GregABedard] :BTW, newly hired Ben McAdoo is known to be a standout draft/talent evaluator, especially QBs. Wanted Giants to trade up for Mahomes, ranked Allen-Jackson 1-2 in 2018 draft class. “He’s an awesome evaluator,” said one person who previously worked with him. “All positions.”

  1. The fact that people actually hate this addition as an offensive assistant is actually mind boggling to me lmao.

  2. I just want to fast forward to the draft so I can know if the Pats actually think Daniels is worth the #3 overall pick or if they’re going in another direction.

  3. He might not be a good HC but he is a above average coordinator and offensive mind. Mayo doesn’t understand offense. He needs to hire a shit ton of people who do.

  4. I will still never understand why so many teams passed on Lamar Jackson. You’re taking Josh Rosen over that guy?

  5. So, if they’re giving him the title of Senior Offensive Assistant, as Breer mentioned, that means they’ll still need: a QB, RB, WR, TE, and OL Coach. As well as assistants for them and run/pass game coordinators.

    Get a move on.

  6. **McAdoo benched Eli for Geno Smith!**

Guy got screwed over at NY because the owner wanted to do right by Eli. McAdoo wanted to move on from Eli which we all know was the right call. Eli was a .500 QB at his prime. By the end he was just *bad*. Ben was the only guy in the building saying it was time. They ignored him, it went bad and they fired him, then moved on from Eli anyway after he was gone. Who knows how good Geno might have been 7 years ago?

I’m not saying he’s HC material but he’s a very talented evaluator and is a great voice to have in the room. Positive hire!

  7. I think the AVP and now McAdoo hire are signals that the front office/Mayo realized the Pats version of the E-P offense was too complicated and are trying to make it more player friendly.

It’s gonna be curious just how much input he will or won’t have and every article I find that mentions his offensive philosophy says it’s a vanilla scheme with hints of a west coast offense designed to get the ball out the QB hands quickly, AVP has similar ideas.

    Sometimes simple is good.

Really looking forward to Lazar covering training camp.

  8. Regardless of your opinion of him as an offensive mind, does anyone believe this? Sounds like Ballard’s ‘Brady was a first round pick on my board’

  9. Imagine being a Giants fan knowing McAdoo pushed for Mahomes and they said no because the Mara’s weren’t ready to move on from an aging Eli.
