  1. Sorry PJ. Love you but you took the money over the playing time. You made your bed, now you have to sleep in it for another season.

  2. Dude is just Haywood v2. An undersized PF who plays good D but doesn’t score and primarily shoots 3’s

  3. Id 100% take him back just to add some grit. But as a Buyout guy. If we traded for him Id be so dissapointed

  4. It would feel very Miami Heat to not re-sign him and then trade for him on the same contract later

  5. As others have said, PJ on a buyout is a no-brainer. No way is he giving up the $11mill he’s owed next season though and I’m not trading for that contract unless the clippers are attaching an asset.

PJ really messed up by leaving for Philly. California is taking 10% off of his salary and when you take that into account he left for what? An extra $5mill? He’d still be playing if he were here and we would’ve made up for the loss on the back end by keeping him around.

  6. I gather we haven’t dealt with the repeater tax yet right? So we could hypothetically take him in a buyout??

  7. I wouldn’t reject taking him back out of bitterness/spite like the top comment in this thread suggests.

I wouldn’t want him back because he’s finally washed. I’d only take him as a way to replace the Haslem bench spot that yells at dudes for slacking, and only on a minimum.

  8. I’d actually like this.

I think PJ can still be a decent defender in the Heat system. He’s familiar with the SpoZone and it should cover up his deficiencies with an aging body. He could improve the offense as a spot-up shooter. He doesn’t have to be elite, it would just clarify the roles of the rest of the team.

Flip Caleb for Kelly O and take PJ. Increased usage for Terry, Jaquez and even JRich would more than replace Caleb’s rim pressure. It would also give the Terry/Herro combo more burn.

The only reason why Caleb hasn’t been moved yet is how much the team values his competitive drive (Bam quote on Caleb’s increasing leadership on the team)- PJ is the only one who could come close to replacing that.

  9. Bruh I don’t think some people appreciate how washed he is. He was already getting blown by in the playoffs during his final months here. It’s two years later and I promise you he’s not become more physically capable in that time lol. We had a good year, he got paid, it’s calm. If we were making sentimental moves, Goran would be here already
