What do you think of last years draft class?

What’s your grade for them, and what do you think about last years rookies?

  1. A. 1-3 all solid.

Because of what it takes to be hitting on post 3rd rounders, since the diamonds in rough are far and few between. Roschon looks like a consistent hit of a RB just needs volume now. Noah shows promise if he can stay healthy. Tyler Scott looks good if he can get incorporated more. Terell is showing promise of being a plug and play consistent CB in rotation. Travis and Kendall they are still around on PS, can make improvements and be good depth pieces.

  2. 3 legit starters with your first three picks. Johnson made some big contributions. Smith filled in well down the stretch. Scott showed some potential.

Sewell and Pickens both provide good depth.

    That’s a solid draft.

  3. Encouraging picks: Dexter, Stevenson, Smith, Wright (struggled 2nd half of the year though) and Roschon even though I don’t value RBs that much

Not too impressed with so far: Scott and Pickens (Pickens could go in the next category). Scott has speed and showed he can get open a bit, but he dropped a lot of passes. Keep in mind he was primarily a RB in high school, so maybe just needs to learn the position more

Didn’t see enough of to make a clear judgement: Sewell, Bell, Williamson

  4. I’d give it a B+ currently.

Wright is a locked in RT who had some ups/downs, as expected. I think he takes a big leap in year two. I expect the same for Dexter & Tyrique, who came on as they got more reps. Pickens & Scott just seem like depth guys, which is a shame because I was high on Scott in the draft. Pickens should be allowed to play his natural 3T position IMO. Maybe he turns it around. Roschon is a nice, dependable RB2. Sewell & Smith are great depth pieces that will continue to grow and can play in a pinch.

  5. A GM who drafted consistently well and well in the early rounds is something we haven’t had in a long time

  6. Looks solid after year 1. Wright and Stevenson were immediate contributors. We also saw flashes from Dexter and Smith. Roschon was a bit disappointing for me given the way the organization talked about him after the draft. Perhaps he will improve greatly between year 1 and year 2

At this point I’d say if either of Pickens or Scott pans out it’s icing on the cake

  7. Dexter and Pickens hopefully will improve over the offseason and one or both will be a big contributor next season

  8. All three of our first 3 picks are on an upward trajectory have potential to be blue chippers so absolutely A+.

  9. A minus. Poles really nailed the Darnell Wright, Dexter and Stevenson picks and finding Terrell Smith that late was another gem

  10. First three picks are good players.

Pickens flashed a lot. Hoping that Sewell can be a decent depth piece but he’s unproven. The 4th round disappointed me but I think that Smith is a really nice player in the 5th. Overall, pretty solid class

  11. Obviously, we are no Rams or Lions, but we got a really strong class. I’m very eager to see who Poles and Cunningham select this year.

  12. It was good but i think it’ll prove to be better cause a lot of these guys will have bigger roles the next few years especially Noah and Roshon

  13. If you factor in trading the #1 pick for DJ Moore, the 2024 #1 overall (Caleb Williams?), and a likely high 2025 2nd, it’s an A+

  14. A+ purely because I wouldn’t have even started paying attention to the team as much without that Darnell domino falling bahaha

  15. It’s not very good. We’ve seen worse, but Bears fans do not have an objective view on this. All season long we heard people pounding their chests over Roschon, Smith and others. On balance most of these guys are replacement level at best.

Wright looks great, but he’s a top 10 pick. He’s supposed to be.

Dexter started really slow but seems to be coming on. That said, he isn’t exactly a blue chipper. He’s a quality starter, which is basically a GM hitting a single in the second round.

Stevenson looks like a great find. Poles can claim a W here.

Pickens appears to be a bust and that’s a pretty high pick that so far has returned nothing.

Roschon is not a good RB. People like the way he crashes into people, but that’s not a RBs job. He needs to be available and move the chains. He’s not even as good as Foreman who we picked up off the scrap heap. This pick was a mistake at this stage of the draft.

Scott is a bust. It’s amazing he started as much as he did while producing so little. He’s too small and doesn’t do anything special to compensate, and he drops the ball.

Sewell is a practice squad player whose ceiling is special teamer. He should have been a UDFA.

Smith showed up as a backup. Really nice find late in the draft. I’m not sure he has starter upside but he’s a tremendous value here.

    Bell is a no show.

Williamson is a depth piece/PS guy which is fine here.

All in all, this draft is probably a solid double. That we burned a fair bit of capital to move around and get players works against the grade a bit. I’d call it a B-/C+.

You also have to mention that we passed up the opportunity to draft CJ Stroud. I understand why, but in hindsight that was a huge mistake.

  16. I’m very content. Looking like multiple long term starters. Wright was generally solid and Dexter played well with limited reps. Tyrique showed a lot of flashes at the end of the year. With proper development these guys could be great.

I’d like to see more of Sewell, but unlikely given he’s LB4 and the amount of nickel that’s played. I wasn’t that impressed with Smith against GB in the last week, which was the only time I really noticed him, and it wasn’t in a positive way. I remember feeling at the time like he was getting picked on with JJ out. Hopefully he was doing more throughout the year and I just wasn’t noticing.

Now I’d like to see how Poles does on the offensive side of the ball this year. Last draft was really only Roschon and though I do like him, if I’m being honest, so far he has been pretty mid.
