  1. Most people will probably hate it but I think it would be so fun to see what wacky shit he’d cook up every week plus he’s not getting hired away any time soon.

  2. He meant to say UCLA.

I honestly don’t know how to feel about this. On the one hand, he can be a really innovative offensive mind. As long as he’s not the head coach and not rubbing people the wrong way, I still think he’s got a great understanding of offensive football.

With that being said, he wasn’t exactly lighting the world on fire at UCLA. He honestly seemed disinterested at points. I get UCLAs not a blue blood football program but I thought they’d perform better with him.

    Regardless I trust JS

  3. Whitney said a while ago when we were interviewing Dan Quinn they were looking at Chip Kelly for OC so not too surprising they’re still interested.

  4. Defense better be in the best shape of their lives….they will be on th field 3/4 of the game.

  5. I don’t know how to feel about this. Chip is an offensive guru but a bad head coach so who honestly knows. If it happens I don’t think it’d take me long to get behind though.

  6. Honestly I wouldn’t feel overwhelmed or underwhelmed with this hire. It would be okay I guess. Would still prefer Grubb or Engstrand. Maybe Eric Bieniemy. I’m not very impressed with what he did at UCLA.

  7. If they think Chip Kelley would be a good fit then he’s probably a good fit. What the hell do I know lol

  8. I think they can do better than Chip Kelly. UCLA’s offense wasn’t particularly strong last season in a conference that was giving up big numbers.

I feel as though the offensive performance of his teams has been middling since everyone adjusted to the hurry up offense. It may be he used up his “one trick” years ago

  9. The overall strategy of the Hawks seems to be get guys who recently had success in college ball. It should make for a fresh perspective! I’ll take it.

  10. He could be like a Steve Spagnuolo but for offense. Former failed NFL HC candidate who dominates as a coordinator. I don’t think we’d have to worry about another team poaching Kelly for a HC job after his failed stints in Philly and SF. So for that reason, this could actually work.

  11. Yeesh, definitely not my first choice but what the hell do I know lol. Grubb has literally zero NFL experience and Engstrand has never called plays before, not like they’re slam dunk candidates either. Just gonna have to trust JS to hire the right guy, whoever it ends up being.

  12. The best part about this hire would be the fact that if he is good he would NEVER get snatched away to be a HC.

Probably is the highest upside candidate just because if he’s great he will be here for like a decade.

  13. I’d prefer no. I like eric bieniemy and Grubb. bieniemy would probably be my favorite hire.

  14. As a UCLA fan for the last couple decades, fuck Chip Kelly and the absolute shitshow he is trying to leave the Bruins with. Although it would actually be weirdly ironic that I hated Pete (because of his USC affiliation) and have now grown to love him. So maybe thanks to my hatred, OC Chip will strangely get us our 2nd ring.
