A fan asks Kyrie “why don’t you play like this when you were on the Nets?” Kyrie replies with “Thank Mayor Adams for that, bro.”

A fan asks Kyrie “why don’t you play like this when you were on the Nets?” Kyrie replies with “Thank Mayor Adams for that, bro,” referring to New York City’s COVID-era mandate preventing Kyrie from playing in the city while he was unvaccinated.

  1. Tbf didnt kyrie have like a really efficient stretch where he playing like 1 game a week. Guess that was mainly for away fans

  2. He could’ve easily played home games and saved himself millions as well. No need to thank the mayor, thank yourself

  3. Regardless of your vaccine opinions, it is crazy to think a super team imploded from a mayor’s mandate. Visiting teams could have unvaccinated players but not the home team.

Now 27 year old Mikal Bridges is the only hope for a franchise. 😭

  4. They let him watch games in the building but he wasn’t allowed to play in the building… make it make sense

  5. I’m sure Mayor Adams was also responsible for Kyrie missing games for:

    – Tweeting anti-semitic nonsense
    – Going to his sister’s birthday
    – Just not showing up at all and not notifying the coach
    – All the other nonsense he got up to while in a Nets jersey

    Kyrie’s a clown

  6. vaccines work, people. don’t be that guy

edit: just realized there are plenty of anti science nutjobs in this sub

  7. As if New York was the only city with that rule. It’s like getting arrested for a DUI and blaming the current governor.

  8. Kyrie is as dumb as they come man. Hell of a baller but is the literal embodiment of the Dunning Kruger effect.

  9. So when he flames out in Dallas do we blame Greg Abbott or Ted Cruz?

Fuck them both anyway, but is Kyrie claiming he likes Texas politics better?

  10. Nobody should have been required to get the covid vaccine. Mask mandate, sure, but the vaccine mandate crossed the line.

  11. 😂 I love this man. Amazes me that some of yall still don’t have the balls to admit those mandates were OD

  12. Yall want to explain how it made sense that Kyrie could WATCH courtside but not actually play in the game? Science right?

  13. Kyrie reminding you that he’s one of the most unlikable athletes in modern American sports.

  14. Adams is actually the whole reason he was reinstated.

Adams came into office in January 2022 and changed the mandate to accommodate professional athletes in March, just in time for the start of the baseball season in April.

  15. All other Kyrie BS aside, that was a stupid rule that he couldn’t play home game while the away players didn’t have to comply.
