[Krawczynski] When it comes to Kyle Anderson, the Wolves just really like the defensive versatility and leadership that he brings to the table. The offense has been an issue, for sure, but they’ve always focused more on what does well. He’s important for them.

  1. Lmao I got nothing to say. Anybody who has watched or played basketball can see how fucking atrocious Anderson has been all season long. Fine, you like his defensive versatility? Cool, then pick and choose your spots better when he plays and give him less minutes. For a team that struggles so much offensively, especially in the 4th quarter, the fact Anderson is consistently in the game with less than 3 or 4 minutes to play is flat out treason

  2. This sub isn’t gonna like it, but removing a really big locker room presence mid way through the season isn’t a good idea.

  3. Ultimately there’s more to basketball than what happens on the court. So I get keeping him, but hopefully Morris will allow for his role to be simplified or reduced in some way

  4. That’s great and I totally get it. Don’t even fully disagree with the assessment! But if that’s the team’s position, Finch has gotta be more careful with how/when he uses Kyle.

Defenders don’t even try to stay in the same zip code when he has the ball, the other team forms a wall around the paint and we end up making bad passes looking for a look that can’t exist with Kyle on the floor.

He’s not the release valve he was last season. I wish he was, but he isn’t. Finch needs to start playing him the way he would play any other guy with Kyle’s profile, because, on balance, he’s hurting the team right now.

  5. the negativity surrounding him is getting ridiculous. its not helpful. he’s a contributor with some unique strengths and weaknesses, everyone can calm down. he’s the current scapegoat just like half a dozen guys have been before him

  6. Kyle hive we ride!! The haters just don’t understand. When he’s locking up Kawhi/Shai/KD/Luka/Jokic – basically whoever in the playoffs, you’ll remember this day.  (Also, if we bring in another buyout guy who can play offense (Dinwiddie?) don’t be surprised to see Kyle’s advanced stats climb up. Not playing alongside other non-shooters like J-Mac/Shake will be huge)

  7. Solid defender against 3/4s and is the best on the team at being the cog against zone defenses. Makes sense that they want to keep that

  8. The Monte addition is going to really dwindle Kyle’s minutes. Personally I’d make Kyle available next to KAT and Naz only. Basically a backup 5. He won’t get killed on switches, he doesn’t have to stretch the floor from the corners. He obviously doesn’t have the rebounding chops, but you gotta give something up if you’re sticking with him.

I also like the decision to stick with him, it was not going to upgrade just by attaching a 2nd to him

  9. Ladies and gentlemen we are talking about the same leadership that gets a tech on the bench in the final minute of a game.
We are talking about the same defensive versatility that still maintains an elite defense when he is off the floor.
    IM FINISHED

  10. Hopefully adding Monte and whatever we can find in the buyout market can allow us to play him to his more natural strengths without having to sacrifice so much offense.

  11. I like keeping Kyle, but his best skillsets (outside of leadership) are defense and playmaking. We just added efficient bench playmaking in Morris, and we’re already a top 5 defense.

I really hope this team picks up shooting on the buyout market, but at the end of the day it seems Finch and TC wanted to roll with this core all the way through the postseason. We’ll see how it plays out

  12. he has a role in the league for sure, just not on this team. I thought a trade would be a mutually beneficial to both parties. just have to hope he doesn’t become a detriment to the locker room rather than an asset once his minutes inevitably drop.

  13. I’m okay with Kyle on the team. I just want Finch to be more selective with his usage of Kyle because it’s over half of the season and he’s probably not getting better offensively

  14. I do value his defense at times. That said, he can exhibit his leadership in the locker room and on the bench (if he can keep his mouth shut.) He can be valuable as a defensive substitution. And on offense he can stand in the corner and never touch the ball.

  15. It’s tough playing 2 of those types of players huge minutes though. I’m nervous about having 1 dude who is anemic from 3 playing big minutes let alone 2.

Could say this same stuff about Okogie

  16. Has anyone noticed his shot looking different and faster this year? There seems to be a lot less lateral movement and smoother release. I wonder if he’s been working on it and still isn’t comfortable with it yet
