Phillies could “sneak in” and land prime free agent.

Starting to feel a little like the Schwarber/Castellanos signings. Free agent sits on the market long enough that the FO feels their value is too good to pass up.
And undercurrent of this is also the Wheeler talks. If his ask is too high and the team feels like they’re not going to get a contract done they might want to sign one of those FAs as a contingency plan if Wheeler hits the market (where anything can and will happen).
