  1. Now that we have the 55th projected pick… I can Stan for my favorite 2024 second round dubs draft prospect

    Dayron Holmes II… 6-10 PF/C Jr Dayton

Modern three level offensive and elite defender across all spaces of the floor Big.

    >If RW3 could pick and pop… that’s Daron Holmes II.

RW3. Keegan Murray. Chet. WCJ. He has alot of -esque ness to him. Was a first round prospect last two years and has gotten so much better over the years he is effectively the best pick and pop big in the country and a great great great defender. Best jumpshot block guy since RW3 who is the NCAA GOAT in that category. His screen-roll work is just top tier timing. He handles the ball alot and the actions he works off of are very similar to Dray/Loon DHO back to basket from deep… except he’s the guy creating the offense for himself/others out of the action rather than getting guards into space.

    19.7 p/ 7.3 r / 2.5 a/ 2.3 b/ .7 s on 58/39/71

The more you look into this dude the more he’s clearly a candidate to be this years Jaquez… like are we seriously calling him a 45-undrafted guy when he’s clearly top 20 and ready to play in the league soon.

He’s gotten WAAAAYY better every year and somehow is paying the price for being 21 1/2 instead of 19… but he’s just killing and does everything “surprisingly well for a big” to purely “that will work in the league” levels.

He’s probably gonna be a lotto pick “upon further observation” but if he’s there I’d run to the podium.

He’s my guy. I’m tagging him. Best Dubs style/need prospect in range. Good chance to be an All-defensive team player in the league.

  2. Alot of folks doing the “can’t wait til CP3 returns” stuff. I gotta say i just aint feeling his return tbh. Cuz it’s always been Dray… Pace and Defense that makes this system work its best.

    Defensive rating w Dray 113 (109… 4th last 6 games)

    Defensive rating w/o Dray 122

Excuse me for being a negative Nancy about it but where we need to be as team CP3 doesn’t help us. I appreciate he’s played great and BBIQ is off the charts. But the DEFENSE is the side of the ball that is gonna bring us back to the party.

Early teams stalked us down with 15+ points leads while CP3 was our “2nd best player.” Cuz they knew they could have their way with us defensively. I honestly believe that the difference between his pace and style vs Dray’s creates on court dissonance between first and second units. The simpler method is CP3s… but the ball doesn’t hop and the things that make the system work best go away. But Dray and Steph’s high risk small window style of decision making is really integral to teams success (and swagger tbh).

There’s other stuff too and I guess I’m a CP3 hater… but seeing young fresh legs defend like it means something after watching Dearon Fox and Malik Monk blow by Steph and CP3 in the clutch early on. Defense is going to get us where we want to go… if there is any chance of getting there.

Gui and Lester are revelations especially on defense. I gotta keep it 100% Klay and CP3 just can’t get to that level of just pure Defensive ENERGY at this stage no slight it’s the benefit of young legs. Maybe Dray was right about riding the young legs a little bit.

The last 6 games we are 4th in Defensive rating. You can say trash competition but it’s the NBA every team will hang 120 on you don’t apply the requisite effort and have the personnel to defend. It’s something. The defense. CP3 as a 5-11 slowpoke will not help us keep the more important side of the ball in the goodness state its in atm.

Remember to win in the playoffs top-10 offense and top-10 defense makes you dangerous. Can we be dangerous with CP3? Not to say he shouldn’t play a little… but 30 mpg us no Bueno in my book. Metrics dudes will hit me with the +/- but I saw WARRIORS team basketball for the first time this year the last 6 games.

Defense. Defense. Defense. Respect the hell outta him but fingers crossed we just keep winning and Kerr decides to stay the course with Gui and Lester (and Moody) and DEFENSE. Go Dubs.
