  1. All I know is that BI, Herb, and JV had a positive +/- in a 17 point loss.

And another game where BI scores a bunch in the 1st/3rd and doesnt get enough usage in the 2nd/4th.

Willie Green blows. This is my conclusion. Get a dickhead coach who knows how to rotate and keep players accountable.

Yeah the refs sucked but this was on the Pels.

  2. something has gotta give with Trey. he cannot be this bad at shooting *and* this bad at defense and keep getting significant minutes

  3. I find myself becoming more and more toxic and toxic its partially my fault. I might need a break sorry everyone. its just really tough to see the same mistakes over and over and no changes.

  4. Rotations were awful, Zion was amazing on O, horrible on D, Ingram had an MVP first quarter then decided to give the Lakers a 10-0 run based on TOs and horrible shots. Trey may need to play just 10 minutes a game

  5. BI and Herb might have been the only one to show up and play defense today. Defense was just all around bad, cant win with that effort. RUI got most of his points from backdooring, D’Angelo got easy looks, etc.

Was a very winnable game if this team defended like they are capable off.

The two bigs were terrible tonight, Lakers do a great job against them in most matchups. Onto tomorrow.

  6. So in the last 10… Trey is shooting 29% from 3. Until he improves I’m all aboard him figuring it out on the bench. Give these opportunities to someone else.

“Shooters shoot” only works if you’re able to break out of it. He’s shooting a career worse from the arc right now. He is a traffic cone on defense. He’s not offering much of anything right now.

  7. Going away from Zion late in the 4th completely killed our momentum. He sucked on defense tonight, but he was unstoppable driving. We do this all the time then question why we can’t close games out

Should be able to beat Portland tomorrow at least

  8. Herb and Dyson were Ok/good today. Same for Jose but he player way too much. The rest were awful except for Zion on O

  9. Sucks but on to tomorrow. Time to start another 4 win streak….. I feel like there has been multiple this year and we just can’t get it to 5. Y’all try to not overreact too much since there is a game tonight.

  10. Weird game. Offense was unreal in the first half for both teams.

Zion had a great game… at least on offense. No idea why they abandoned him towards the end of the game, not shooting a 2nd half FT is a bit odd as well. Some of the back door cuts he allowed were atrocious. Then again it’s not like anyone was playing great defense either.

I know Trey came back from the injury too early but it’s sad to watch him now.

I have no idea what WG has against Hawkins but he needs to get over it. You don’t trust Hawkins to play defense but nobody was playing defense this game. You need shooting. And of course Hawkins immediately hit a 3 when he got in the game. WG has cost them games and will continue to be a problem.

  11. Sucks because this was a winnable game, but they’re honestly a tough matchup for us. Also didn’t help that they went nuclear in the second. Gotta win these next two

  12. Jose with 21 minutes took the 4th most number of shots and shot 3/9. Meanwhile Trey and Hawkins played 20 minutes and made 4/6 shots combined. Willie Green masterclass.

  13. Some shooting would’ve been nice, maybe try playing Hawkins or Ryan when we need to match scoring?

  14. Pels lost by double digits 5 of the last 7 games vs competent teams, and only one was a win (Clippers)

  15. Bad game from us coming from a great win against the Clips. Not gonna help when they went nuclear in the 2nd.

We’ll bounce back tomorrow, games will get easier.

  16. Franchise half for the Lakers and it was neck and neck until about garbage time. On to the next, we’ll be fine.

  17. BI the last 2 minutes of the 3rd vs the Raptors: 5/6 on 3 pointers. Since that: 0/6 between both games. Only 6 attempts in 2 full games.

  18. It was an off-night, we were gonna lose eventually. At least we’re in a better situation than in last year. Got some easier teams coming up, should take the advantage of them.

  19. I need Willie to stop manufacturing runs FOR the opponents.

The “defensive” lineups where BI is surrounded by brick layers/no shooting while still not putting together stops are just handing out 12-4 runs like hot cornerstore plates

  20. Two things can be true:

    1. We look like we can be contenders on any given night

    2. We look like we are frontrunners on any given night

Before the rant, the refs were atrocious. The three in the key calls are some BS. How are teams defending Zion? Moving on.

So we just beat the Clips. Amazing win against a hot team. Our team is a mismatch for them, they can’t stop Z and our wings match up well. We’ve consistently played the Clips well.

But the lineups tonight were awful, awful, awful. It’s the coaches job to understand the limitations of our players. Having BI with 4 non shot makers is a disaster. The stretch in the 4th without a big against a big ass lineup: disaster. Trey getting cooked all night; sub his ass out and put the rook in. Hawkins does more than shoot, we’ve seen it. Dyson and Herb cannot share the court together. Willie Green is getting outcoached by Darvin Ham in an important matchup against a Western Conference opponent on the second night of a back to back. ATO’s: non existent.

There’s a disconnect in the fanbase. I’m going to ruffle some feathers here, but these losses on primetime show what we are. If you’re fine with it, cool, but I know what this team is capable of, and I want this team to make the finals one day.

Willie brought us one of the best moments in franchise history. There’s no taking that away from him. But if we’re ever going to make a championship push, I just don’t think he’s the right guy. Remember Kira in the play in last year? I’ll never forget that, or the unnecessary Gary Temple minutes, or banishing Hawkins to the shadow realm, or underusing JV. Agree or disagree, but that’s just what I see. And yes, I’m just a dude on reddit, just like you all.

Easy stretch of games coming up, so we can still climb the rankings, but man…. Losses against the Lakers, like this? 87 at half time? Idk, but it just doesn’t sit right.

  21. Live in the postgame conference rn: Willie Green to Lakers performance: Give them credit, they played well.

These past three years, he never holds himself accountable with his horrible rotations and non-adjustments. This is your coach.
