  1. To me this is nothing more than most teams know now we’re taking a QB, likely Caleb at 1 and Poles saying we’re not just going to give fields up. Basically putting the word out there he’d rather keep both rather than just give Fields away.

I feel Poles is one of the better GMs in the NFL working the media to his advantage or at least he looks that way because we’ve had back to back 1st picks in the draft.

  2. I hate how people thinking about something is now news the days. Like the headline earlier saying the Commanders are thinking about considering trading up to one. Haha. I guess when you need news 24/7/365 anything works.

  3. a multi-billion dollar franchise is considering every option – including numerous that none of us have – seems like standard operating procedure

theyre also considering downstream potential results and outcomes and measures – including numerous that none of us have – based on info none of us have an elements none of us know

  4. Does Schefter have anything left in his ass or has he already pulled everything out of it?

  5. You’d be careless to not consider every single possibility. Why wouldn’t you?

More than that, why wouldn’t you tell other teams you’re considering keeping both. If they believe you, it increases both the value of 1st overall and Fields.

  6. Can I treat this franchise like it’s Madden, and draft Williams and move Fields to running back?

  7. A lot of yall about to be disappointed when the final decision is made. Ill be here to lurk and enjoy.

  8. If you don’t get at least a second and a fourth round pick you absolutely hold onto him. He is only costing you Net $4 Million for a backup if Caleb is not ready. If you wanted to Tyrod Taylor / Jacoby Brisset type backup they would cost you that much and a third rounder simply is not enough to give up Fields.

  9. They left out the part where Adam Schefter said right after this that its not going to happen.

  10. It’s not gonna happen. But when you have an ok qb, and the number one overall pick, you have to entertain EVERY possibility. And I’m sure that’s all this was, a thought experiment to exhaust every option. I’m sure they’ve also said “should we draft drake maye number one overall?”, even though it’s not gonna happens

  11. The Bears have considered investing in time travel technology so they can go back in time and bring the 85 Bears defense to the present along with Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, and Joe Montana.

  12. Fans don’t want to accept this possibility but it’s the most play it safe move. The only downside is you miss out on a second round pick you might get from fields (could be higher later if he plays well). The other is that two guys in the locker room splits the team and both guys can’t handle it. If that’s true they both army it. Mahomes came in where smith was, didn’t phase him. Love too. So, sit Caleb a year and start Justin until he fails. If he balls out then you have a better situation than you do now

  13. I don’t think it’s crazy to think that Caleb sits a year. If Justin goes nuclear someone is going to give an insane trade package for him or Caleb. That being said if he stinks you won’t get much for him anymore, but might be worth the risk. All that being said this probably ain’t happening.

  14. Part of being a serious decision maker is considering the bad options and understanding why they’re bad so you can make the right decisions in confidence.

  15. I actually think this is what the Bears should do. They won’t because of ego and media. But it’s 100% the best move unless someone gives them a 1st for Fields.

  16. I’m sayin man – how the fuck can we just draft Williams and then go from there? Who will he learn under if we get rid of Fields? Another Mike fucking Glennon? Gtfo. It will be like it was in 2018 with Trubisky where whoever we have as starter will fuck up royally and we put Williams in anyway. Fucking clown circus shit show

  17. I like the video where the guy says Fields “doesn’t get taken down in the backfield often.” That made me laugh.

  18. No shot. You don’t waste the value of trading Fields. Plus you don’t want Williams to sit behind a bust

  19. This is actually the scenario I am hoping happens, unless we get a great offer for fields.

There is a lot of data that shows QBs that can sit out a year or two are much more successful than QBs that start their rookie season.

  20. If they do draft Williams or any rookie QB, you want some kind of veteran QB on the roster. Which I guess, will be Fields now. If they keep him, he’ll most likely start the season anyway but be on a very short leash.
