[Baggarly] Might be tough for me to get confirmation this late tonight but Susan is a pro’s pro so take this as gospel. Giants appear to have the right-handed pop they lacked. Just my speculation but this would seem to set up a trade with Conforto, Davis or both on the move.

Adding Soler with Chapman still being a real possibility is exciting IMO. If Baggarly is right about a possible upcoming trade, this could turn out to be a pretty solid offseason. Let’s go Giants!
JD is gone, going to arb with him was an early sign. Conforto would be surprising, still think there is a role for him in LF against RH’s. Especially because we only have Lee and Yaz as the only LH bats in the outfield if you assume Sabol and Mekler get much needed reps in AAA to start
We don’t have enough lefty’s to move conforto, and I think the team is banking on him to bounce back. JD Davis is the only “decent” options we currently have at 3rd base so this move makes Wilmer the odd man out. If we land Chappy then JD and Wilmer are probably on the move. Love Wilmer but you can sell him high especially with the price tag and great season last year. Slater also could be on the move. Only way I see them moving conforto is if they sign Belli and move Wade into the slot they had for conforto and I just don’t see the Belli move happening unless his market falls apart like when the Twins first got Correa.
Sign Bellinger = Trade Conforto Sign Chapman = Trade Davis
And if they dont get either, idk why you’d trade either of those two right now
If I start hearing Farhan saying “we like the roster we currently have” when asked about remaining free agents I’m gonna hit the roof
I’m kind of ehh on signing a full time DH but I’m curious about the corresponding move. I assume this deal doesn’t go through until after Ray is put on the 60 day unless someone is traded or DFA’d (which why would they with a slot opening soon).
I think the only way Davis is moved is if Chapman is signed. Without Davis and Chapman the 3B situation would be pretty rough unless you are okay with giving Schmitt the everyday role there.
