  1. Oakland doesn’t have much choice but to bargain if they ever want another team. They should be able to get a lot better price than the $1.2 million they get now.

  2. Keep them here till 2028, and let Fisher drag his feet on the Vegas stadium. The longer they’re stuck here, the more likely it is that Fisher sells to a Bay Area buyer. If they leave in 2025, they’re not coming back

  3. City is not gonna say no. I don’t think JF has much leverage. I wonder if they were gonna be forced to forfeit their TV revenue or whatever.
As a nearby fan, I selfishly want them to extend the lease. I want A’s baseball as close to me for as long as I can have it. Ive already decided, I’m gonna stay a fan. Just going to drastically cut back on going to games. Sorry fellas.

  4. Figured this would happen, the Raiders did the same thing. Thought they’d find an alternate stadium and ended up extending the lease. Fisher doesn’t want to lose that 70 million in Bay Area tv money.

Sidenote, payroll is 43 million and he makes 70 in just local TV money…. yeah he’s real broke lmao

  5. I’m glad that people are being reasonable here. Even more lame duck seasons in Oakland is still better than minor league caliber ballparks in Utah, Sacramento, or Vegas.

It also increases the likelihood that Fisher sells since his Vegas dreams are turning into logistical nightmares.

That said, Shao, stand your ground! The City has some good leverage here

  6. Let’s be clear: If the A’s are planning to relocate, their lease should NOT be extended UNLESS their is signed commitment from MLB to expand to Oakland and keep the A’s name in Oakland.

  7. Fisher is fucked if he doesn’t get 67 million in tv money for the next three years, did nobody on his staff realize this until it was way too late?

  8. I hope Sheng says fine, A’s can stay, but if/once the Franchise leaves, A’s namesake stays in Oakland.
