  1. This is a dangerous precedent we’re undertaking. Having such a god of Hotdogs so close to a costco foodstand cannot be treaded lightly. Such a close encounter could cause things to go critical, and cause a hotdog chain reaction that consumes the entire city!

  2. Bro showed up to the meeting at the arena, saw the Costco dogs in close proximity, and signed immediately. We’re gonna ride a Phil the Thrill dog-fuelled wave to the cup baby

  3. He’s beloved in the locker room, should sign for near league min, and is still a competent enough hockey player to sub in when injuries hit. He’d unironically upgrade our PP2. Zero issue from me

  4. Is he really gonna work with Tocchet? Tocchet sat Kuz for his lack of forechecking and defensive play, Kessel isn’t exactly known for either of those things.

  5. He might fall in love with Abbotsford and want to stay there instead. It does have fine dining like… Greek Island… and… Seven Oaks Mall… and a 17 hour wait in the emergency room at the Hospital… and sometimes people put up like 100 crosses at Exit 52 to mourn abortion being legal. I love my hometown.

  6. Wow. Didn’t think we’d actually get this far to possibly sign Phil. As long as the price is right, he’d be another cool addition of the ex-Pens club.

  7. Start him in Abby where Costco is 5 mins away and he has to work for the promotion to the big club so Costco is only 5 seconds away. Perfect motivational strategy.

  8. I’m not sure where he’d fit tho. I can’t see him fitting in our top 6. We’re not breaking up 3rd line. I guess 4th or just a depth player?

  9. I’ve liked Phil ever since he played with my favourite player Mason Raymond. It would be so cool to see him in a nucks jersey. He had wheels back in the day but I’m sure he can still score.

  10. Awhile back, I was saying that it would be a savvy move if the team could move off of Kuzmenko (as part of a bigger deal) and bring someone like Kessel/Kane in for fraction of the cost to replace Kuzmenko.

After the Lindholm trade, you’re essentially able to sign a Kuzmenko replacement in Kessel, and it’s not a big deal if you healthy scratch Phil.

  11. I’m assuming he’s already signed a pto and if all goes well we will sign him to a deal. Probably league minimum with performance bonuses since he’s 35+.

  12. Can someone fill me in on Kessel? Why is he such a wanted addition when he’s unsigned currently?

  13. It’s kinda funny that when the Canucks approached him in the summer he’s like thanks but no thanks. Now we’re number one and he’s interested lol

To be honest I don’t understand the hype about him and he hasn’t played in like 10 months. But everyone else seems excited so we’ll see how he does I guess (if he signs of course).

  14. I think I died in a work accident last fall and this is all some sort of prolonged fever dream ..

  15. I am a Flames Fan who hated the Canucks for decades. The Canucks were a team that was almost on the same level as the Oilers (Yuck). But for the past few seasons I’ve been feeling so much differently… Falling in love with Tanev and Markstrom, JT Miller, Hughes and Petterson on my fantasy team, and this crazy fun season your team has had this season has totally changed my mind. I fucking love the Canucks, they are my second team, I want y’all to win the cup! Adding Phil is just the icing on top.

  16. If he signs & plays with the squad, I wonder what number he’d take given that 81 & 8 are taken.

  17. Man if Kessel eats a couple Costco hotdogs out of the cup in Vancouver it truly would be the best timeline.
