Kansas City Parade Shooting

I know we all are still heartbroken over Sunday but I wanted to express what probably a lot of us are feeling after hearing today’s news. No fan should have to fear for their life while celebrating their team at a parade. Like many of you, I had planned to go to the SF parade if we had won and it’s crazy to think something like this could’ve happened there and I didn’t even realize the possibility of that.

Watching football is a way for many to get a break from the harsh realities of life and I just feel bad for all those affected by today’s events and the fact it overshadowed what should’ve been a happy day for some. I’m just frustrated that events like this are so common nowadays and I know that we here can all agree that we hope the surviving victims make a full and speedy recovery.

  1. TMZ trying to claim its niners fans that did it. Just saw the video of the gunmen getting arrested. Both wearing maholmes jerseys. Wtf would tmz report that?

  2. Absolutely horrific and enraging. Per their local news, KMBC, it was a mass shooting. A KMBC headline currently says “**10 people struck according to KCFD**.” The reports are not good, at least 1 dead.

    > Five were serious injuries and three are in critical condition.

My heart goes out to everyone in KC. Hope the victims pull through. Whoever did this, I hope they spend the rest of their lifetime behind bars and face a lifetime of absolute fucking misery.

  3. So unbelievably fucking sad that fans can’t even celebrate their team winning a championship without the fear of insane crap like this happening.

  4. I am so incredibly tired of this happening and absolutely nothing changes. Schools, malls, grocery stores, movie theaters, work, super bowl parade. I don’t feel it is too much to ask to live our daily lives and find a little joy in celebrating our teams, without risking our lives. My heart goes out to Kansas City. What should haven been a cornerstone memory for so many families is now marred by this tragedy. A Kansas City fan isn’t going home after watching their team win a Super Bowl. I am disgusted, once again.

  5. Most KC fans I’ve interacted with has been class. Nobody deserves this, not even Seahawks fans. This is terrible news.

  6. Awful news. This was a cause for celebration for the city of KC and some dumb fucks had to ruin it for everyone. Glad they apprehended these bastards.

My heart goes out to the Chiefs fans and the victims. ❤️

  7. Agreed! Love the City, Love Q39, Anton’s Joe’s and Jack Stack, Affare and so many other great eateries. Be safe out there KC!

  8. Wow , that’s awful….definitely puts a bad ‘juju’ on that win…the Super Bowl parade celebration that turned into a massacre..feel beyond awful the victims , the city , the team..speechless

  9. Lord the world is getting worse and worse….

You can’t even enjoy a parade without the fear of violence now?

  10. This is so fucked up, they just wanted to celebrate their team and this shit happens

jfc man, it was supposed to be a happy day for them : my heart goes out to all those affected

  11. I hate the Chiefs with every fiber of my being, but damn, prayers up for KC today. No city or fan deserves this at a championship parade.

  12. Fan of the Chiefs here, came to this sub to learn more about the Wilks situation but saw this.

You guys are real for this.

  13. This is a football thing, this isn’t a sports thing, this isn’t a political thing. This IS a humanitarian thing. There’s so many damn things that need to be addressed and I wish I could give answers. It was supposed to be a celebration and a coming together to just be… happy. For a few hours. People have issues; society clearly has issues that need to be addressed. This happens way too often in places this should be the last thing to be on your mind. Schools, places of worship, parades; places where you should feel safe. The fact that lots of people main thoughts is “Am I gonna be safe here?” Should be telling to everyone when you go to one of those places. I’ve become far too cynical about people, places and things in my life for my own good, but then things like this happen. And it reinforces my hope or lack-there-of for society. This sucks.

  14. I really hate how the society of America has become, where gun violence has become a normal part of life and where mass shootings occur at an almost daily basis. This shouldn’t be happening to one of the richest and most developed countries in the world. I feel like we are back in the time of the Wild West, where everybody was packing heat and shootouts can happen at any street at any given time.

I feel really bad for the Chiefs fans. Their day of celebration has turned into tragedy.

  15. This is what happens when politicians and influential figures boost the bogus Travis/Taylor conspiracy theories. I’d bet money that this was some right wing lunatic that thinks this championship was put in place by the “deep state”

Only one fanbase gets to celebrate in February every year and we cant even have that. My heart goes out to all those fans affected both physically and mentally.

  16. I’m devastated for the family of the deceased. Finding out they were shot and killed during a parade meant to celebrate a Chiefs Super Bowl victory. Awful

  17. It worries me that people are still downvoting those saying how guns are the problem. But I’m a Brit so what do I know.

Much love to KC. Sucks we lost but that pales into significance when people don’t come home from a celebration.

  18. It’s exactly been 6 years since the Parkland Shooting , what type of future are we showing for the younger generations, smh, respect to OP for posting this

  19. I wouldn’t be shocked if was gang beef. I remember clear as day the 2017 Warriors parade in Oakland. It was near my house and I took a long lunch to partake. I was walking back home and heard shots fired. Someone was down on the ground about 20 feet from me, people were rushing to the rescue. I can vaguely see the shooter run up E. 18th and OPD responding.

It’s definitely team spirit to wear your team colors – but gangs have been known to co-opt sports jerseys as a “flag” of their affiliation – colors. Red’s the color for the Bloods and the Norteños.

  20. They closed school so the kids can go to the parade. 9 children at this point are being treated for gun shot wounds. Last year people wrote their phone numbers on their kid’s shirts in case they got separated. Imagine getting separated from your kid and then hearing gun shots.

  21. It’s a tragedy and whoever did it is a low life loser. Simple as that. Shooting winners of a game is a low life move

  22. I agree with everyone else. No fan bases deserve this. We can have our little rivalries and arguments over football but no humans should fear for their life when celebrating such an achievement for their favorite team. Fuck guns

  23. Tragedy strikes every time Niners lose to the chiefs in the SB. Last time, COVID became a pandemic. Now this. We’re cursed

  24. Absolutely heartbroken about the game, but never would I wish this on anyone and I hope KC is OK. I hold no ill will towards them or their fans at all, it’s just football.

  25. It’s going to be a q-nut

Q anon conspiracy theorists were predicting if the chiefs won. It had something to do with Biden? Or some crazy shit.

So uhhh when we gonna do anything about those crazy fucks?
