Crossroads businesses don’t want a Kansas City Royals stadium to bulldoze their neighbhorhood

“The Royals’ recently announced Crossroads stadium and entertainment district would require the demolition of more than a dozen businesses. Many of those owners are now calling on Jackson County residents to vote against April’s sales tax measure to send a message to the team.”

  1. Crossroads is thriving, but needs a makeover. The addition of the stadium will longterm expand the marketability and appeal of downtown Kansas city. I hope the business owners have a well thought out alternative, otherwise I cant help but feel like they are just in opposition to change because it inconveniences them.p

  2. The stadium will make crossroads better. There’s a dozen other shitty little dilapidated brick buildings outside the footprint of the stadium all those little places can move to.

  3. Totally progress. Royals should be more patient. I predict most of downtown will be inaccessible for the next 10 years, meanwhile we got a murder, road and sewer problem, plus the streetcar expansion. I love the vision but the reality is going to be hell for years. I predict a lot of people are going to die because of this project. Construction, stress getting to work, traffic accidents and shit like what happened today. We don’t have the police force to handle our shit now and the chickshit government in Jeff city isn’t going to help.
