Saw this on IG today and i feel like from what i remember post SB last year, the focus was less on Hurts absolutely playing bonkers and more on his fumble. Also my thoughts on Purdy: I think he’s an above average QB and a lot of his success stems from CMC, Kittle, Aiyuk, Deebo as well as Shanahan scheming short throws/checkdowns for YAC. Yes Purdy made great throws in the playoffs but he wasn’t that good in the first halves of the Lions and Packers games. Thoughts?

He had the most Brock Purdy game ever. The scheme did all the work getting his receivers open over the middle, and made maybe 2 or 3 great throws. If they can’t win it next year, it’s going to be a very awkward conversation regarding his contract extension.
Literally no one said anything about that in Jalen after the superbowl last year. In fact, we all collectively sucked his dick, and the eagles gave him a huge contract

Move on, we won’t see the Niners next year unless it’s in the playoffs. Purdy is also super likable, one of the most likable guys on their team, and an awesome underdog story.
Hurts was phenomenal… except for one really critical error. If only his defense helped him in the 2nd half.
I got no problem with Purdy in fact I think it’s awesome the last pick in the draft is playing in big games maybe it’ll show teams it’s not always about combine numbers… that said there’s a pretty big difference in where Hurts was drafted and where Purdy was drafted there’s also a big difference in their contracts… will be interesting if SF falls off a bit next season… will they be willing to commit to a big extension for Purdy

Hurts statistically had a top 5 Qb SB performance EVER. People just remember the fumble. Ironically, very similar to Brady’s performance in SB52
This is a fair comparison. Also, Purdy had an elite defense that held KC in check for most of the game. Ours fell flat on their face in the second half.
