Shouldn’t really affect his trade value since the deadline and his anticipated return are only about a week apart. I feel as though the trade is inevitable, but I hope he stays.
Can’t turn down a good return, though. Since it’s clear the dark ages have come upon us.

so can’t be teased before the deadline, becomes UFA and signs elsewheres. Nice.
Only hope now is for a “rights traded” before the draft

Brutal. I was still holding out hope they could turn this around, but I don’t see it happening without one of the only 2 players that consistently cares night in and night out. I seriously hope that wasn’t Jake’s last game as a Pen.
Puusty is literally the *only* guy willing to shoot the puck on the PP. He deserves an NHL job 100%.
Vinny H has been incredibly consistent since being sent down.
Gruden has been my boy since day one. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve seen him have an off night in WBS. Takes faceoffs, kill penalties, play physical and never retaliates or takes a dumb even-up penalty.
This is turning into a case study in how not to transition quickly from an elite core to the next generation.
Bad front office moves, bad coaching moves, bad personnel moves, poor trading and contractual moves leading to on ice giveashitness and losing your major tradebait piece just prior to the deadline.

They’ll go like 5-2-1 without Jake, and get a lesser return than the would have without injury> But some perennial AHLer will pot 15 goals in 25 games to help squeeze us into playoffs.

PSA: You can trade an injured player. I don’t know where the notion that you can’t do that started, but it is not the case. See both the Eichel to Vegas and Kane to Buffalo trades. All this means is that he may miss a handful of games with his new team in between the trade deadline and when he comes off LTIR. That shouldn’t be a dealbreaker for any team to expecting to make the playoffs.

Have to think is guentzel even still tradeable if the timeline is right whoever he goes to they will get to use him only a day or two after the deadline has passed. But at the time are teams even interested now interested parties could look elsewhere and make trades before the deadline approaches. Idk I just hate all of this really was hoping to get some young blood by trading him. Now the pens should be looking to get to the negotiating table if they can’t trade him. Can’t lose him for nothing you just can’t.

This season is disastrous. They’re gonna lose Guentzel for absolutely nothing now.
Trade market was hot over the all star break, 1st round picks were being given out…. but Dubas decided to stay put and roll the dice….
This is what he gets.
His first year has been an absolute disaster.

I wasn’t big on all the sell at the deadline talk until hearing Jake is out for a month. This team is done, put a fork in them.
Dubai might have a couple teams interested. The deals are percolating, Jake takes a few days off until they are finalized
