  1. Too late for MLB to do anything about it now. Too bad MLB doesn’t have quality control people or a company that conducts quality control. God forbid MLB shows samples to the players prior to getting into a stupid ass contract with a company that has proven themselves to be subpar. All fans should boycott the buying of MLB merchandise that Fanatics makes to send MLB a message. That of course would be a difficult ask. You can get the same quality jerseys from DHGate for about $25 a pop with name and number customization.

  2. I’m glad the outrage is getting a lot of attention, the thing is Fanatics isn’t gonna do shit to improve the quality of their retail products. The players might get them to fix the shit they get sent, but that’s it. Then they’ll sell those “high quality” jerseys on their site to us for $400 a piece.

  3. >I think one of the things that comes down to the jerseys is they’re a different color this year. They’re like a brighter orange. You can even see it in the hats — you can see how much brighter this one is. And so, you look like a pumpkin when you’re out there.

Alternative quote: “The new uniforms…it’s that throw up orange. It’s not that orange you can sit with. It’s that puke inside of a pumpkin orange. And I don’t like pumpkins. So…I just don’t really like the new uniforms.”

  4. Gabriel Brothers used to have the wildest jerseys. I remember in the 90’s seeing an entire section of Brett Favre jerseys that were all misspelled as Farve. And a Florida Panthers jersey that somehow had the Carolina Panthers logo on the front.

  5. Can’t wait until someone’s number peels off while they’re on second during a SNB telecast for all to see.

  6. Just ordered my first DHgate jersey as a result of this whole fiasco. If I’m gonna get a shitty quality jersey it might as well be $15 rather than $170

  7. But manfred said they were better, what do these players know? They think they know better because they’re the ones wearing them? s/

  8. The 49ers Super Bowl Champions shirts arriving in Africa today are more authentic than these jerseys

  9. Adley Rutschmann was quoted as saying “The patterns aren’t even that complicated. The lines hardly criss cross at all.”

  10. Hell yes. I hope everyone complains and calls out this company for blatantly trying to line their pockets by creating an exponentially worse product for the same if not higher price. Fuck them. Boycott the jerseys mlb players. Call them out on their shit

  11. Much worse than TJ Maxx jerseys! I found an authentic (Russell Athletic) Wade Boggs Devil Rays jersey at a local TJ Maxx many many years ago.

  12. I think the lack of tailoring is going to get on a lot of players’ nerves. MLB penny pinching.

  13. At this point we should redo the all-star game, instead of AL vs NL, it should be “Players who hate the new jerseys” vs. “Players who ‘love’ the new jerseys” lol

  14. > When pressed on the issue Thursday, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said the jerseys “have been tested more extensively than any jersey in any sport.”

Manfred playing an invisible accordion whilst spouting this bullshit?

  15. TJ Maxx is a seller of past-season fashion brands. A more apt comparison would be something like Wish or Temu where you just get absolute garbage. But I agree with the sentiment.
