The 2024 Boston Celtics are wayyyyy better than the 73-win Warriors in terms of offensive efficiency
February 19, 2024
The 73-win warriors of 2015-16 had the top offense in the NBA.
They would rank *21st* in offensive efficiency this season, below the Raptors, who are 19-36.

It’s been 8 years, it’s a different game now.
This is nice and all but we need the chip. Fuck every analytic i want 18
When you look at relative ortg though; aka how many points above league average; the 2023-2024 Celtics are around 40th in league history
Peak warriors are the only team that shows up in the top 25 from the modern era, as in post 2010.
1 and 2 were Nash led teams in 04 with Dallas and 05 with the suns. Third were the 15-16 suns. Edit: that should be the 15-16 warriors my bad
The chart proves exactly that it isn’t about the Celtics, but the era. Your headline should say, offensive efficiency keeps climbing.
The reason the game is like this today is *because* of those warriors
Defenses and the adjustments were different back then as crazy as it is to say.
There’s a lot more versatility valued, most likely due to the bind that the team put opponents in.
Still wild to look at
Can we make these types of posts AFTER we actually win the banner. The regular season doesn’t matter if we lose in the playoffs.
This seems insecure and misleading because of era
Graphs and pie charts don’t equate to chips and banners…
Only thing that is worrisome. Is mental toughness. We will find out in the playoffs if they have shook off their humiliation kink and can be tough mentally if/when things aren’t going according to plan in the playoffs.
This is cool but I’m still not confident about this team in the clutch
